Someone once told me that tortoiseshell cats can only be female because of the way the fur colour genetics are in the second X or something so the Y chromasone can never carry the tortoiseshell gene. Dunno if its true tho. Anyone here for a tortoiseshell boy cat?

I've have had a lot of... rather strange pet names, such as biggin' and peg leg (he broke his leg before i even gave him a name), but right now, my pets names are Eskimo and Gurly..both are mutts *sigh*..

I've got a python named Monty, god I'm original :) .

My dog is named Rocky :P

I have a mouse/rat (I'm not sure what it is >.<) called Sunshine, and when I went back to China this year, I bought a little grey, fluffy rabbit, now named Donkey.

@fellupahill: There's plenty of cats with spotted coats. Although there is an actual Tiger Cat. Which is kind of endangered iirc.

I have a 7 year old Black Lab named Ace.

ok my pets name is.. strange. at first it was leopard when we (family) got him, then we named him leopard in our languafge we speak at home (czeck, i suck at typing it btw, just talking :D ), then we started shortening his name till it came to (in my language is spelt) prd. it's pronounced prrt. who would like to guess the meaning of this word? well it means... fart. but now taht we have used it for rather long (7 year old cat, had since day 1 as a kitten) it's lost all it's *real* meaning and is just another name... weird and funny in a way :wink:
