dragon246665
I've often heard that runescape is a poor man's world of warcraft and that many people only play RS because of cheap membership. If WoW was 5 dollars a month, would anyone here play?
zotto
No. I play runescape mainly because it is browser based and it reminds me of old-school rpg's such as baldur's gate.
Kietaro1
Eh I play them both. They are such different games that I do not think that comparisons like this should be made.
Kenneh
I play RS for many reasons, but the fact it is 'cheap' isnt one of them. I can't remember what the new price is but when i first joined members it worked out ~ 10.5pence a day
Makoto_the_Phoenix
Nope. I don't have the OS to run WoW. Randox
Aside from the fact I feel comparing WoW and RuneScape is completly pointless, no I would not play WoW. I have seen the game, and it looks neat and I think I could probably play and greatly enjoy it (especialy seeing as it would be new to me), it reminds me of everquest. I tried everquest at a friends house when I was in grade 5 or 6. I created a dwarf shaman (for some magic ability or hammer or something stupid like that). Aside from the fact I was already fairly mad after finding out I could only weild blunt weapons, was 3 feet tall and female. The first monster I fought was a freaking snake, not poisonus or anything, more like a garden snake. My 3 ft. 200-lb dwarf shaman couldn't stomp the stupid snake to death, and I died. I never touched the game again. This pretty much ruined all first person fantasy games for me for as long as I hate that game. On the other hand, RuneScape sort of reminds me of Baldurs gate even though there completly different. Baldurs gate is one of the best gamnes I have seen or played. Besides, I wouldn't abandon RuneScape for a replacement game now anyways, so even if I liked the idea of WoW just as much, I won't abanodn RuneScape and I will not make the mistake of playing to games like that at once. I've seen Wow and it just doesn't hold my interest the way RS does. :) Elizabeth: There will come a time when you have a chance to do the right thing. Jack: I love those moments. runevirage
I play RS, Guild Wars and WoW, but I like RS the best. I don't think it's really a matter of money for most people since 15 dollars a month for something is nothing. What is that, like a meal if you eat out? Meh. Wouter828
Maybe, the games are not comparable in set up, WoW does have better graphics but I don't know, that, for me, is only of minor importance. When I see WoW I go "WOW that looks sooooo much better than RS" but if I'd ever play it for a long time ít IS the game you play, not the graphics. And as for gameplay, rs floats my boat well enough if not better than WoW does. Click here for my blog.
Derbo
Hell no. I like runescape cause of it's sketchy graphics.
Sir_Kurity
I have played warcraft and NO i would not. Warcraft is basically combat combat combat, doesn't really have much skilling. Though playing with friends is generally more fun (bosses are like 10 times more epic), and the community is better as well. O.O
chazzycaz
I quit Runescape for WoW, Id still be playing it if it hadnt decided to crash my PC every single time I switched it on... The price doesnt bother me, If I was going to play WoW, I would be doing so whether the price is reduced or not (Although I wouldnt mind it if Blizzard gave me a new computer to play it on) Just kidding ladies, you know I love you =DGuide to Making Money with NPC Trading
Ezz
No, I don't like WoW, already tried it. Has nothing to do with price for most people I think. [insert birds flying in a circle here]Yes, that sig was annoying.

Smavey
WOW is like SUPER addicting....while rs is just like half addicting. So you can still have a social life, do well in school, and play rs.

Zimbu
If WoW membership costed more than 70 euros per month I would consider this a valid argument. The membership cost for both games is less than one trip to the grocery store or an hour of work with no education in most countries where these games are played. I think most people who aren't incredibly stingy base their choice between the games on the big diffrences between them. (Sorry about the sentence fail.) WoW is centered around combat which requires knowledge of the game mechanics and good reaction times from the player. There is very little grinding after the beginning of the game. In RS you can usually eat/watch TV/read a book while you play and the game has skills like farming and runecrafting in which there is new rewards even after hundreds of hours of playing. I've never been interested in PvP or clans and I like skilling more than combat. If I want to test my reaction time I play RTS games. (I'll probably quit or take a break from RS when Starcraft 2 comes along.) What does WoW have to offer me?
