IGoddessI
The prosecution argued that the murder was over the game lol That doesn't mean that it really was. I'm guessing it was what triggered him off but I don't believe for one second it's the absolute reason for the shooting. I know I'm profiling him when I say this but he doesn't look or sound like the stereotypical God believer. His parents gave the impression that they were highly religious and perhaps this didn't sit well with him. That is a complete assumption on my behalf and may have nothing to do with the killing at all. I have a gut feeling that taking the violent video game away from him (because of religious morals), triggered a thought about religion in the family that caused the "snap". For example, perhaps it was forced down his throat when he didn't believe. Boy am I going to get flamed for this one, but I'm looking in to it nevertheless. Bloodredsword
The media is gonna go to town with this one... Obviously he had other issues, a mentally healthy seventeen year old doesn't do that over something as trivial as a video game. Jack Thompson's gonna love this. He is...but it's just to bad that only him and 4 other people are going to talk about it. It gives me slight hope that this particular judge was intelligent enough to deem that the stupid kid wasn't insane. Listen to the mighty words of Bloodredsword. Tip it MGC Xbox live leader board! wild_goat_14
What a [wagon]... he already had his game back, He should've just played it sneakily... such as take the disk out and leave the case in the box? Seriously, the killing was obviously not just for the game. I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete. So, what is 1.111... equal to?10/9. Please don't continue.
IGoddessI
There are other articles that say his father put the game in the same box as his gun. That's pretty ironic... NO! you can't play shooting games! So I'm just going to put your shooting game with my GUN! lol :wall: The only people who tell you that you can't do something are those who have already given up on their own dreams so feel the need to discourage yours. RichieMcD
I love how contradicting the Us constitution is, legally he's not an adult, not old enough to vote or purchase anything limited to adults yet he's being tried as an adult. You're either an adult or you're not, and the only thing which can call that within court is your countries constitution. I'd put this guy down under insanity or look further in to his living conditions with parents, my view on this is usual bias against games industry tabloid [cabbage]; Not looking into the background of his family at all or his living conditions, just pointing all blame to the games industry. IGoddessI
Then again if he had a good defense lawyer they would have already investigated these sorts of things to bring before the court lol We need better lawyers! Sure the little [cabbage] needs to be in jail but we still need to fight fair. Harakiri
That mom should get shot for bad parenting...oh wait... I don't know who to blame though, the mom for parenting, or the kid for shooting her, or Halo... Halo should have taught that kid something anyway...don't shoot too many humans, or they'll shoot back at you... Anyway, in Halo lingo "Damn, that [bleep] got Pwned!" I don't know...I'm kinda torn between everything...Blame rap instead of videogames...
Alg
Blame videogames because the kid clearly has something wrong with him? Honestly, a sane individual would not kill someone over something so trivial... He may have had another motive. If he is not sane, than it's his mental condition to blame. But then, what do I know? duncdar2
Yeah, I mean come on, being addicting to a game, pshhhh... sad bunch. Now! i'm going to tell to every friggen clan I'm in while mining some ore, and playing SWBFII telling other people online over a headset, and play Pong. Gah, stupid teens with their video games, pfft, I resent them.

Georgelemmons
I love how the media and public focus on the violent video game, not the gun in an easily accessible place. llcoolguy972
You have to admit, though, the method was fairly epic. "Close your eyes, I have a surprise for you" And he surprise is bullets. Heh, glad I'm not the only one who thought this. It sounds like a line from a movie or something. Kinda makes me wonder what went through the parents' heads, though. son: I have a surprise for you. dad(thinking): OOO! I hope it's muffins! Golly, I love muffins. *gunshots* dad(thinking): This is a terrible muffin. :(

Too bad he got disbarred, and can't do anything about it. I love how gun control isn't even focused on, but how they focus on the game. I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. doomy
Kinda funny how they straight away say "the videogame must have madehim think they wouldn't really die" or something like it. What the hell he's 17...Lol Looking at the polls 70 odd % think video games are dangerous? :| That kid was messed up, the video game isn't... xSxqPowerx
He obviously had other issues (mentally, and with his parents). The game was either a factor that finally pushed him over the edge... or simply the first thing he thought to grab onto as an excuse for what he did. I really don't have an opinion on it otherwise... the parents must have been doing something wrong.

Tim
What.....The....[bleep]. I thought I had issues when i was diagnosed with Depression but Day-Umm, thats not even justified as Insanity, its an act against Humanity itself. Killing the Very people who created you (Scientifically) Over a Freaking Game that could be re-brought on E-Bay for $30 or Burnt. -.- It does annoy the crap out of me that they blame video games for human violence, i play a TON of violent Games and the most i've done is hit the desk from a Team Member on CoD2 Killing me when i had the flag during a CTF Map. :wall: Popoto.~<
Sam
What a barbaric act. But surely, it must go deeper than just a videogame. 2257AD.TUMBLR.COM
