I need to buy a fedora...

Don't, it looks bad on most people. If I could find a picture of you...

Although I hate to admit it, Zac Ef(f?)ron dresses very nicely.

I'm sure it would look terrible on me. But still ridiculously awesome.

I fail to see how it's gay to wear nice clothes.

I mostly wear Armani Jeans/Collezioni, Gant, Pierre Cardin and Peak Performance for school and hanging out with friends and Adidas/Nike/Puma/And1 for sports and under work clothes. Lately I've almost stopped buying any other brands except for Armani. (I don't know if any of these ring a bell for you, I have no clue about half of the brands and none about the stores you mentioned. I shop at Stockmann and Stadium :D )(btw am I getting my prepositions right?)

I like clothes that combine good quality with not making me look like I'm showing off. I could never buy something like Louis Vuitton monogram canvas items or expensive clothes with obvious brandings. It's also important that the clothes I buy won't become unwearable because they "go out of fashion". A good design doesn't have to be timeless, but I don't want to look like my dad when he puts on his early 90's jogging outfit.

Stylewise I just go with a black and white/brown cardigan, a t-shirt and a pair of jeans. If I'm trying to look a bit nicer I'll go for a black and white look with black denim jeans. No hats, just freaking gigantic noise cancelling headphones.

The entire post read like a sterotypical 'rich kid' from the movies/tv dress (reminded me a lot of Cruel Intentions actually), so I'll have to agree.

I think he's European.

Aren't those clothes more like Aeropastale over there?

Isn't Aerpostale pretty much cheap and affordable compared to a lot of things? Well, if you want a tailored Armani suit you're looking at about 2,000 euro last time I checked. Cheapest Armani jeans I've seen is about 200 euro, don't know how cheap they go but they can go for a lot more as well.

Wow, I'm really surprised. It's true that I haven't bought any Armani Collezioni clothes lately as I'm saving up to buy a car, but that's really what I wear.

Well, I suppose I'm well off for someone my age, but it's not like I'm leeching off of my parents or something. I just have an outside work that requires physical endurance during the night (early morning postal service 2am to 6am, no elevators and plenty of newspapers to deliver all the way to the doors) and the pay is what you would expect from doing that sort of work. My transport/eating expences are very low because I have my student benefits from studying at the university. I also get a second job for summer and christmas vacations from the uni. I have average taxes because of my average wages and I don't often go drinking. I suppose I spend a lot the extra money after rent, food, electricity and phone bills on clothing. You have to keep in mind that Finns have a high average income and it's even higher in Helsinki.

Is it really that bad? I'm actually from a working class background (mom:cleaner, dad:car mechanic, that's about as working class as you can get) so it's very weird to see people telling me that I dress like a "rich kid". I probably make more money than the average university student, but it's definitely not a look that I'm going for. Hmm... I guess I should reevaluate my clothing budget and choises if I'm giving out the wrong messages with them :-k . But then again, Armani is nice.

Meh, kinda zero content post I know, but I don't like to be branded as a rich snob/upper class citizen and I felt that darkrick was trying to do so. I work for a living and I have a sweaty t-shirt to show for it every morning.

Edit: For those who don't know, Armani Jeans is actually a brand that is a bit cheaper than the Armani Exchange that is sold in the US. And I don't buy tailored suits lol, kranked1.

I have a fondness for suits.

I like wearing semi-formal clothes (slacks, tie, shirt, shoes). I just don't like wearing the jacket.

Yeah, well it's sort of love-hate thing really. I like suits because of the way they make me look and feel, being of an average build I fit them quite well. But I hate the idea of having to wear them to be taken seriously in a job. I own three suits, one is a very dark navy blue with a subtle pinstripe. It fits me well, but is old and so getting horribly shiny and thin. The second is solid black, but doesn't fit me particularly well and isn't comfortable. I shouldn't have bought it. The third is my favourite, a slightly lighter navy blue with a very subtle pinstripe. Fits and wears like a dream. I normally wear white or pale blue shirts. I have a pale pink one and a couple of stripey ones, but don't wear them that often. Fairly conservative taste really.

Around the house it's just jeans and t-shirts or long sleeve tops. I don't care for brands.

I wear boxers and go topless around the house. But outside I wear a shirt.

I don't want to sound like a copycat, but that's exactly the same thing I do. My favourite is usually red checkered boxers.

Other than that, I usually just buy clothes that are loose and comfortable. Although I do have a huge liking to wearing long-sleeved business suits with long black pants.

I've worn the same $3 t-shirts for two years, buying more when they go on clearance again. I wear jeans from that store where everything is just under $8. I'm a cheap bastard.

I went in a brand name store once and nearly vomited when I saw people paying $60 for a pair of jeans.... with holes in em.

I only have two suits. One dark navy and one dark gray with light gray pinstripe. These aren't "branded" because I don't really see the point in spending $500+ or so when I barely use em. But I fell in love one time with this Cavin Klein suit. Oh man was that fit sexy. But too much $$$ for me. Maybe when I start my career out of uni I can start affording fitted Armani suits like our buddy Zimbu there.

I wear shorts and very old tees inside the house lol.

I don't have to worry about clothes often. Uniform school. Blech.

But, I usually do care about how I look. I don't wanna look like I just came back from the dump or something. I usually buy stuff from Levi's or Kohl's(Heh, I got made fun of for that.) and I usually buy some band tee's from Hot Topic. I always seem to wear a jacket though. I just look better with him.

That reminds me, I need to buy more clothes. I've outgrown a lot of my clothes. #-o

I hate all those clothes you get at American Eagle, Holister, etc, people used to go so nuts over them it pissed me off to the point i hate them.

Really i just wear what i like and is comfortable, 99 out of a 100 days you will find me in a pair of jeans and t-shirt. Really before school this year i went and bought 5 pairs of jeans, and plain gray t-shirts, a gray and black jacket, a few shirts with writing on them (AC/DC, Metallica, "I would put something clever here but you wouldn't get it", etc). And thats all i wear and i like it! ^_^

The trend that I don't get is the whole raw denim thing. I don't understand spending $150-200 on jeans when they don't look that good.

I think that's subjective. I personally like the way raw denim looks, and the jeans themselves are good quality, but I can understand it if you don't like it.

I like t-shirts with funny slogans. 3 favorite ones I have right now

"cover me in chocolate and throw me to lesbians"

"I'm drunk and your still ugly" (private joke involved)

"Try and read this while I check out your [breasts]" done in eye-chart test form so the letters are smaller and smaller without noticeable gaps for separate words.

I can understand fashion, but like Shadow I can't understand why pay 150-200 dollars for it when you can usually get the exact same thing for 50 dollars.

"You're drunk."

"Yes. But tomorrow, I'll be sober. You'll still be ugly."

Message tees are funny once, funny twice, then people realize that behind the joke, there is a very ugly shirt.

Matt: You want that eh? You want everything good for you. You want everything that's--falls off garbage can

Camera guy: Whoa, haha, are you okay dude?

Matt: You want anything funny that happens, don't you?

Camera guy: still laughing

Matt: You want the funny shit that happens here and there, you think it comes out of your [bleep]ing [wagon] pushes garbage can down, don't you? You think it's funny? It comes out of here! running towards Camera guy

Camera guy: runs away still laughing

Matt: You think the funny comes out of your mother[bleep]ing creativity? Comes out of Satan, mother[bleep]er! nn--ngh! pushes Camera guy down

Camera guy: Hoooholy [bleep]!

Matt: FUNNY ISN'T REAL! FUNNY ISN'T REAL!

^This poster sums it up nicely. ^

As for some fashion being expensive, it's because designers spend time designing their lines, and they need to make money somehow. And of course, the brand itself makes the clothing more expensive, but there is not way you can get the "same thing" of a $200 article for $50 unless it's on sale.

Believe me, you didn't have to explain yourself so much, a simple "I work multiple jobs so I can afford the things I enjoy" would've covered it. My extra cash goes on DVDs (today I just laid down another $200 on them) so I really shouldn't be surprised that your extra cash goes towards clothing, I kind of assumed that was on-top of the standard outlay on other items but purhaps not in your case. I wasn't trying to label you as a 'rich kid' just making an observation (or rather agreeing with Shadow), on what was available at the time. If I had taken into account that you are Finnish I probably could've come to the conclusion that it was possible to own those clothes and not be extremely rich but I wasn't on my A-Game then so my bad on that aspect.

As a general question, you don't have to answer if you don't want, how much of your income goes towards your clothes? I'm just curious on exactly how expensive that kind of dress is since most of it is somewhere near the top of clothing in Australia which the 'general public' can get their hands on.

I just grab the first t-shirt I find in my wardrobe, and a pair of jeans from the floor.

I don't really care about my appearance, I have no reason to.

If I'm going out/interview etc, then I will.

Pritty much same only it's gotta be clean. ::'

I do slightly fuss where its from, i only wear clothes that are from a clothing store, not Salvo's etc because of different deals etc (and i cant stand pre-owned).

all in all its either Casual Shirt-Jeans or 3/4 Shorts. I REFUSE to wear anything above my kneecaps.

Oh and i never wear jumpers reguardless of the Temperature (unless its below 0*c)
