February 16, 200917 yr Funfact is that when members came out, Jagex promised F2P would get all the updates aswell.. it would just take a bit longer. Lol. Ah well, that was many, many years ago. February 16, 200917 yr F2P should be allowed some things in my opnion, such as ;untrimmed skillcapes, ability to post on forums, more bank space, perhaps even give them taverley, and herblore, all can have its benefits for p2p, such as cheaper herblore, and free to play hasnt been updated in so long, since members came out it's seemed to have been dubbed the "RuneScape Demo" :| . Of course F2P can be given many things that would benefit both versions of the game, but just giving all F2P'ers the privilege to post on the RSOF isn't one of them. I'm fine with giving said privilege to higher level F2P'ers (and others who show themselves to be worthy of such a privilege (I'm not sure how this could be determined)), but giving that privilege to all F2P'ers would just end in a continuous spamfest of an unheard of magnitude. > SELECT * FROM users WHERE clue > 0;0 rows returnedThere's no place like 127.0.0.1There are only 10 types of peoplein this world: those who understandbinary and those who don't.This statement is false.$DO || ! $DO ; trytry: command not found
February 16, 200917 yr Freakin sweet!!! High leveled f2p players may possibly be able to post on RSOF in the future!!! RAWR Combat level 111 on f2p and 1900 skill total. Surely I would qualify? Edit: smellysocks, do we really need cheaper herblore? Some potions are already so cheap it makes me sick. If anything, I would hope it would have the reverse effect at the new increase in demand would surely ensue!
February 16, 200917 yr Freakin sweet!!! High leveled f2p players may possibly be able to post on RSOF in the future!!! RAWR Combat level 111 on f2p and 1900 skill total. Surely I would qualify? It depends how the set it up, would they give F2P an entirely other forum, that F2P and P2P could see, yet F2P couldn't see the P2P, this way needless questions events from F2P wouldn't end up in the wrong place, would the level requirement be needed I think 20-30+ is a good level to start browsing forums, for new users it takes quite a while to get that high up, I know when I started I could never find where I was going, or what I was doing.
February 16, 200917 yr He's level 67, so we have a CEO of runescape that doesnt know what high level content is needed brilliant more jagex conciders 70 high level bs, i honestly want them to trust some other players in flagging content or something they want released.. the player polls are dominated by level 60s thinking what would be cool when most veterans/high players hate the idea. No offense to Mark Gerhard but the questions he answered were about himself personally nothing really ground breaking about the game. People under level 100 (combat) are a majority. Also, not that many people have many high levels in any other skills when you consider the number of players. All the high level stuff seems to lead to things such as the GWD. The GWD may be awsome, but we can't have alot of things in the game like that. Jagex does need to cater to everyone, and keeping the lower and mid levels happy keeps the money flowing. Besides, hes not actualy the content developer. He already said that. His job is mostly policy, giving the company direction and some basic idea of what they are trying to accomplish. Surely some people at Jagex do have more considerable accounts, and hopefuly in content development. Besides, the CEO is a grown man. Even if hes level 60 he is not going to be among teh group going for all the stuff that looks cool and would completly suck. I think this guy could do alot of good. He's pormised change, and has not indicated that it will be in a disaterous direction. Give him teh benifit of the doubt until you see reason to do otherwise.
February 16, 200917 yr new answers posted 13-14-613-58401007 some of them are interesting Q) Mill3nc0lin - As an older player suffer prejudices of the younger player, server for elder player would be good A) We agree, we are working on this at the moment. like that for example
February 16, 200917 yr Also, he's said "Ok" to several people asking for the forums to be opened to F2P. I hope this doesn't mean that all F2P'ers get the same RSOF access as P2P'ers. It's bad enough as it is F2P forums would be absolutely terrible. They're good as they are, where F2Per's can look at them or get a member friend to post a question if they really need it. Now these are quotes from several people. Just to clear that up. Just to more or less give an overall opionion on what everyone always says about f2pers having ability to post on RSOF. First off, it was mentioned it would only be for higher level players. I agree with this. It would cut out on people that make accounts just to be spamiriffic on the forums. Edit: I would agree with that the probably should have seperate boards though as a lot of the things would be related to f2p, and I can certainly understand p2pers not wanting to have to sift through a bunch of extra stuff they may or may not care about. I suppose on certain boards it would make sense for f2p to be able to post to too though? You say they are bad enough as it is, I agree. Being f2p doesn't mean you are more likely to make any worse of a post than the p2pers. Threre will just be more of them. And even if it is a f2p account, if it is fairly high level, most people are not going to want to risk their account after the time spent on it regardless if they weren't paying such a whopping five dollars a month to play. Maybe it will keep them off fansite forums then. Make your elitist little world a liitle more elite. I hear that [cabbage] thrown around. I get tired of hearing f2pers are too stupid to be able to post. To hell with your elitist bull [cabbage]. Some of us are loaners and I don't really have anyone to post for me. Thats some backwoods inbred [wagon] [cabbage] to say anyways. I don't want friends. Your attitude right there shows me why I wouldn't want to be your friend. Yeah, sorry about the attitude. Don't take it personal. I know this isn't rants. But sometimes people need to hear things how people really feel. Nice gets you no where except some comment like. "Oh hell no, it would be utter chaos if f2p could post". I am sure however I am going to get it anyways. But oh well. So be it.
February 16, 200917 yr The chaos of F2P being able to post on the forums would only be because of their numbers. The RSOF is already very crowded, and quadrupling the user base there just isn't a good idea. So I agree with the idea to only hand out posting rights to high levelled players. And that's not because F2P'ers would merely spam or clutter the forums with senseless crap. P2P'ers are well enough established in doing that. I mean.. look at the RSOF, can it sink even lower? (despite the fact that there are actually quite a bunch of good people posting there) Twitter ||| Google+ ||| Facebook ||| LinkedIn ||| My very interesting weblog about science
February 17, 200917 yr Q) Cybernetic21 - What exactly are u gonna do to prove this isnt a game aimed at kids? A) I don't think we need to prove RuneScape isn't for kids, its very clearly aimed at adults but we also expect some kids may enjoy it. We have already "liberalised" the chat filter although we expect this can be further improved. We plan to nuke some content that comes across as "kiddie" such as stronghold of security, we plan to create "noob" free worlds for players with high XP. February 17, 200917 yr Q) Kingrandy0 --- Hey Mark & other Mods, Has Jagex every planned on getting deeply involved with the community? What I mean is, I think Jagex should host events over the forums (like castle wars, soul wars, pest control, etc.), and everyone is invited to come play and meet the staff. I have only seen a Jagex mod in-game once ever, but he was too overwhelmed with questions -------- A) Great question King Randy, The simple answer is YES, our plan is actually to work with our fan sites and other good community sites and provide them with the tools to organise even better events in the game! I can also confirm that a week or so ago we reached out to our fan sites to tell them about our plans to work closely with them. We are looking to have a lot more JMOD presence in the game especially after we have launched an update to get your feedback and it also gives us a good excuse to break out the pizza and beers at the same time now i'm excited. On the contrary, Mod MMG has some 'splaining to do. I guess Planet FunOrb just isn't important enough for Jagex
February 17, 200917 yr I won't bother reading the whole thread and just state that, he'll get over it, very soon.

February 17, 200917 yr [hide=pic 2][/hide] So does that mean they're not working with RsC  That's not entirely fair  . I'm pretty curious as to what sort of "tools" they're going to be offering to event organizers. I'd love for a proper system to be implemented. February 17, 200917 yr Q) Lordjay82 - Make Forums F2P A) ok gtfo mod mmg You didn't read the rest of the post, apparently. The plan is to open it up to established, or high level, F2P accounts. No need to worry about the RSoF becoming more of a spam fest than it already is. Anyway, I got my question answered. I sure hope this leads to more Technical Staff that know what the heck the command "sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart" actually does. Perhaps it'll lead to the creation of a Mozilla-based RS client, so all OSes can use it...who knows. [i'm just tired of all of the super generic answers when I submit Technical queries that have nothing to do with Linux in any way.] So does that mean they're not working with RsC  That's not entirely fair  . Sounds fair to me. That is, until they clean their act up. It might be the Catch-22 for the ages, but perhaps they can figure something out. February 17, 200917 yr Q) Andrew123135 - this year membership prices have gone up a lot like the sms membership thats £6 just for the game its a bit too much just for a month... could you do something about this it would be grateful otherwise im struggling to afford membership A) We are working with all our suppliers to bring down their cost to our players, we are also continuing to investigate alternate payment systems that provide better value and convenience to our players Lol tight bugger :P £6 too much??? thats one hour of work for me (£6.50 ph ftw) The new guy has got me impressed, I hope he can turn this game around and make it even better : My only question would be: 1) will all the skills get something added to make them better (more rooms, more familiars, more things to smith ect:) and mabey if they could have a 'survival'-based' minigame like the imfamous Nazi zombies on COD:W@W lol (yeah i'm addicted to it)
February 17, 200917 yr I really like how there might be worlds that are reserved for high-level players. I'm not too sure about removing the Stronghold of Security, though. The ankous are good XP. February 17, 200917 yr This is all great! Andrew was never good with public relations so I'm we glad we finally have a charismatic CEO who know how to speak to the community. :) I can't wait to see what those community events he mentioned will be like!
