The fansite thing got me excited and I began to think. He said rule following fansites so Zybez is out with all their RWT ads

we plan to create "noob" free worlds for players with high XP.

This could be awesome depending on his definition of 'high' and 'noob'.

Q) Andrew123135 - this year membership prices have gone up a lot like the sms membership thats £6 just for the game its a bit too much just for a month... could you do something about this it would be grateful otherwise im struggling to afford membership

A) We are working with all our suppliers to bring down their cost to our players, we are also continuing to investigate alternate payment systems that provide better value and convenience to our players

Lol tight bugger :P £6 too much??? thats one hour of work for me (£6.50 ph ftw)

The new guy has got me impressed, I hope he can turn this game around and make it even better ::'

My only question would be:

1) will all the skills get something added to make them better (more rooms, more familiars, more things to smith ect:)

and mabey if they could have a 'survival'-based' minigame like the imfamous Nazi zombies on COD:W@W lol (yeah i'm addicted to it)

lol i love that game, but there is a similar game on notdoppler, but on topic, i look forward to this year, sounds like a great year to be honest.

I like to think of the Dark Bow like a Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) - you get one shot and then you're screwed.

Woot he mentioned worlds for players with alot of exp i hope its 100m+!

GWD solo drops: Armadyl Hilt sold at 63.5m - (More to come hopefully)

There are tons of people reporting feedback to Jagex on a daily basis, so wether he is level 67 or 167 makes no difference, he gets real feedback from real high level players who know what necessary to improve the game.

High level worlds. I'd love that.

Would be bad.

They should make "long member worlds" eg: People who have access to Classic worlds should have their own RS2 worlds to compensate for the loss of the best game Jagex have ever (and will ever) produce.

Why would allowing high level free players to post on forums result in more spam? Many of them are in fact more mature than some members.

I don't like the idea of high level only worlds. It's like placing noobs and beggars in one ghetto while allowing the 'elite' to create their own exclusive community.

edit: enjoy my hundredth post.

I seriously got cramps when I read the question about Mark and Paul Gower, the answer was soooo hilarious

Even with him suggesting of forums only for high leveled f2p players, How can you define what is a 'high leveled player'? Is it level 100+ combat wise? What about level 3 skillers who have 4 99 skills?

I'm not too sure about removing the Stronghold of Security, though. The ankous are good XP.
Anyway on topic, I'm more worried about the idea of removing the SoS. It's a big F2p training area! Maybe they will release a bigger and better one...*wanders of into dream world*
I'm personally just hoping that they're going to tone the doors down a bit but otherwise leave the layout and monsters the same. It would be kind of stupid to take out all of the monsters that are in there.

blue = sad

hoo = who

loo = 100

vo = broken ice cream cone = sad children = sad babies = dead babies

bluehooloovo = sadwho100deadbabies = Who is sad about 100 dead babies?

I've cracked the code!

I'm quite impressed that he is actually answering questions. Hopefully we will see some more useful answers tomorrow.

Aww cmon..."nuking" the SoS?? Cmon how is that place kiddie (besides those stupid doors  ). I don't see whats 'kiddie' about making millions off deaths and bloods from ankous.

Although very nice Mr. Gerhard. =D>

So does that mean they're not working with RsC

That's not entirely fair  .

[/hide]

Sounds fair to me. That is, until they clean their act up. It might be the Catch-22 for the ages, but perhaps they can figure something out.

Eh I didn't say that, you quoted it the other way around ::'

Anyways, maybe one of the tools they're talking about is like NPCs announcing that an event is going on, kind of like when someone's doing a drop party. Or maybe it could be as simple as putting an event countdown timer on the front page.

Funfact is that when members came out, Jagex promised F2P would get all the updates aswell.. it would just take a bit longer. Lol.

Ah well, that was many, many years ago. Naturally they changed their marketing tactics.

I remember that.

Uh, regarding Jagex and fansites, is it possible that this part of the rules may be relaxed?

4. Can I get a link to my fansite on RuneScape.com?

No, this is not possible. Given the number of RuneScape fansites in existence, it would be impossible for us to list them all and therefore in the interests of remaining fair and unbiased we will not list any. Please remember that ALL fansites are entirely separate from RuneScape, FunOrb and Jagex and we are NOT responsible for any content which appears on them.

Likewise, I hope "advertising" sites in RS will be allowed. I hate that RS players are so oppressed that we are afraid to even mention websites or email while playing the game.

6. Can I promote my Clan website in the game or in the forums?

It is a breach of the rules to post anything promoting a website in the forums or in the game. As such, if you do post the URL for your clan site you could be banned. We understand this may cause some inconvenience, but please remember that this rule is there to make it impossible for people to send players to scam sites.

Maybe in the "noob-free" worlds, such stupid rules could be relaxed. I mean, honestly, not every Rs player is a kid.

I thought the same about that... He seemed like he really wants to cooperate with "good" fansites, yet we aren't actually allowed to mention them in game, without the fear of being banned? Also curious to seem how many random "fansites" will pop up now and ask him to communicate with them

So, how about the idea of haveing farming spots for trees and herbs and stuff in a player owned house area? Just seeing if anyone is listening?

=================

I'm listening!

How about your own Magic Trees to cut as well?

Steve

Yay! Player owned tree's and farm patches? :D

I don't see it happening to be honest

At concept stage farming was never going to be a skill, more of something you can do in your POH part of the construction skill. However firstly farming was finnished far before construction, and most importantly it dawned on the developers that they wanted player to interact outside of their houses rather than being tied up training inside.

I was on RSOF the other day when there were 3 Jagex Moderators, they were being very very pleasant. Answering 99% of Questions that they were asked. It's probably the first time in the past 12 months that I've seen alot of mature people in one place on RSOF. The only threads being hidden were ones that were double posts.

I was asking questions about a dc issue I have but I didn't find that they were being as helpful as they could be. Seemed they were rushing alot.

Fair play to Mark, he was on till after 2am (GMT+0) answering questions. He left before his eyes started bleeding, or so he told us.

Mod Zach took over then, he was hanging around until the next morning it seemed. I say goodjob to them, they're really showing some interaction with their customers.

I did see someone say that he was unable to access the Classic forums, Mod Steve seconds after granted him access.

They also answered a question by Dark Dude 98 after he asked would we be able to see our in-game Playtime, etc etc.

FOUND: I found the actual question, it read:

Q) Dark Dude 98 ---Do you plan on letting players see more statistics about their account? (Creation date, time played, number of certain monsters killed etc.)?

-----

A) Oh YES!

There was also other questions regarding the Customer Support service, and he said they were going to improve it.

I'm really looking forward to seeing more of the changes Mark's going to make.

RIP Michaelangelopolous

Great. Interesting statistics I'd like to know about :)

It would be very handy indeed, atleast it's better to know that they're goign to give us this information freely instead of doing as others previously did and E-Mailed Jagex pretending to be "Worried Parents".

:?

There were alot of great Questions on the thread, and alot of great answers.

I suggest you take a read, it was fun. Made me stay up an extra 3 hours, went to sleep before my eyes started bleeding.

It's really the first time lately that I could congratulate them for doing a good job at something.

I got this out of Mod Zach:

He's a good guy. :P

RIP Michaelangelopolous

Kudos to him, it's great to see him actively doing this.
