A girl in my school went around on crutches for almost a half a year after hitting her foot on a rock (didn't even break or fracture anything, just bruised it) , and the only reason she stopped is because the school told her she had no legitimate reason to be on crutches. There was this girl at my old school who used to bring a whiteboard and a marker to communicate with because she "lost her voice." It was obvious she didn't, she would occasionally accidentally let a word or sentence slip. She also wrapped her arms and/or wrists in athletic tape for no good reason.
