A comment on the "In other news..." bit.

 

 

 

I'm quite surprised Jagex is asking for players' emails now. Although it might filter out some of the younger kids who don't have email addresses who would join the game.

Or possibly keep them safer by having to put in a parents email.

Sucks about the d stones update, another way to free-trade gone :thumbdown:

 

 

 

I guess the other updates are good. :-X

 

Unfortunately, any form of free trade allows real world trading.

World 60 is bugged, the spirit trees haven't got the right chat options.

 

 

 

Burning a yew evil tree, i got 1k firemaking exp per fire.

Just some confirmation on respawn times and worlds:

Dissapointed with this distraction and diversion. Without the ability to forsee an approximate time on when the tree will respawn and where (like the telescore in Shooting Stars) I feel as though the Evil Tree will fall into obscuirity.

 

They should have been much more clear about the information on the knowledge base regarding it. I've seen countless people waiting at varirous Spirit Tree spots for 2 hours+ not knowing the mechanics of how it works.

They do need to add a timer somewhere, maybe the master farmer as he isn't hard to get to, It's annoying to try and find one, it's meant to be players passing who see the roots then you can wait for it, but I know me aswell as any other player would like to do this more often because It's fun to do, and we don't really want to stand at a Spirit tree spam clicking talk :\

Ridiculosly low Farming requirments take some of the edge from this "tree game", they could of at least matched up all the FM, WC, and Farm levels to the type of tree -.- And then the rewards could be better for higher trees seeing as an elder tree would be 85 wc 85 farm and ? FM :wall:

Mod Mat K said on the forums that they were working on letting the spirit trees giving you an estimate f when the next tree would be.

So now that it's fixed, can someone explain how it worked?

 

 

 

I thought everyone knew already?

 

 

 

Player A is giving money to Player B for one reason or another.

 

 

 

Both players get Karamja Gloves (at least 1).

 

 

 

Player A gets 25 uncut Dragonstones

 

Player B gets several obsidian items of different types (fast method), or huge piles of fire runes

 

 

 

Player B sells the obsidian items (one of each type at a time) or the fire runes (1 tokkul each) to get a pile of tokkul. This comes out to 10-12 GP per tokkul via items, 9 gp per tokkul via fire runes.

 

 

 

Both players gather at the gem store. Player A sells 25 uncut dragonstones and gets ~4K Tokkul. Player B buys the dragonstones for ~18K tokkul, and sells it back to player A for ~1.2M cash. There was a limit so you could only do this twice every few hours, making for a total of 4, maybe 6 trades per day.

 

 

 

So... if anyone ever wanted to try BH-ing, now would be a good time since all the dragonstone traders are probably resorting to BH now. Unfortunately it's still fairly safe unless you're unlucky enough to get 2 people on you + your target + a rogue.

I've noticed a few things about the Evil Tree D&D:

 

 

 

After a tree dies another will grow after a random amount of time, could be a matter of minutes or hours.

 

This D&D was made so it couldn't and shouldn't be mass hunted like the stars, giving more people a chance to stumble across them and get a decent reward and not be choked out by the masses.

 

There are 26 locations where the trees can sprout (your guide says 25) and most are in densely wooded areas or near roads and towns.

 

Thankfully the hints from the spirit trees are far from vague like the hints with penguins or stars. "Draynor" is much easier to find than "Somewhere in RuneScape."

 

The evil tree saplings grow on their own, making the whole farming part completely pointless. By the time you get to some they are already grown.

 

ANY form of interaction with or regarding the evil tree will count as one of your two trees for the day. (I simply took a spirit tree teleport and that counted as a tree -.- ) *

 

You may interact with 2 more trees again after 12:00 AM GMT.

 

For the first day Jagex was actually forcing the trees to spawn at set times so they could run a steady event. That event is over so don't expect constant respawns anymore. **

 

 

 

* Jagex is looking into this so that only actual farming or chopping/burning of the tree will count, rather than just a teleport or being in the area of a dead one.

 

** They are going to implement a rough time estimate of when one will sprout, but don't expect it to be entirely accurate.

 

 

 

Overall I must say I love the new Evil Trees and the rewards are actually pretty decent for the higher leveled ones if you manage to get more than 20% reward. I was just a bit bummed when the clue I got from an Evil Magic was level 1.

In the dungeon past the blue drags (forget the name atm....neeeeed....more.....coffeeeee). You can set up the cannon and duck away so they cannot attack you. So even though it is not multi the cannon can still attack multiple targets. I imagine may be a bit crowded since the update.
