I don't know what you're trying to get at but you're trashing a band for selling out, which is why metalheads suck #1. What's wrong with ballads anyway? Sure, they're sappy, but all popular metal bands have written ballads. So what if Metallica became a modern rock band? They're old now; they can't really thrash anymore. Just look at what happened to all the other 80s thrash bands - even Megadeth don't really thrash like they did in Rust in Peace.

 

 

 

I'm no fan of Metallica either - I don't actually listen to much metal anymore. People like you and a few others made me wanted to disassociate myself with metal because you can't get anything into your head if someone listens to something that isn't metal or shares a different opinion on a metal band that you choose to fanboy so ardently.

Ron Jarzombek is amazing. It's great to hear Alex Webster really branch out from the Corpse stuff as well. He's really talented.

I been to metal since i was 12, but i got serious when i turned 14, that's when i discovered the glory and pulverising energy of trash metal. Starting with Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters, i then moved to the harder albums (KEA, RTL, MOP, AJFA)

 

The next logical step went to Megadeth and Slayer (Whom my mom still finds disgusting) then i discovered other genres about age 15.

I exploded with such abundance of music. I listened everything, from Sabbath to Protest the Hero.

 

 

 

Talking about Protest the Hero, i have given my attention to mathcore alot recently, i then discovered BTBAM (Colors and Alaska = AWESOME) and i recently found of The Fall of Troy, i regularly listen to most genres inside metal, from A7X to BTBAM, i like them all in a certain way.

 

 

 

But i still find PTH to one of the best bands with the most talented musicians ever. :D

On the ballad topic, there is absolutly nothing wrong with eriting ballads, they are relaxing and nice.

I been to metal since i was 12, but i got serious when i turned 14, that's when i discovered the glory and pulverising energy of trash metal. Starting with Enter Sandman and Nothing Else Matters, i then moved to the harder albums (KEA, RTL, MOP, AJFA)

 

The next logical step went to Megadeth and Slayer (Whom my mom still finds disgusting) then i discovered other genres about age 15.

Same crap applies to shoegaze and indie rock circles, but the fans are generally older and not bloody testosterone-charged high schoolers. There can be a mature discussion over why a band sucks, but 99% of metalheads are either too young, too elitist, or they just don't care enough. I think that metal is the most labelled for having the worst fanbase ever because of Metal-Archives and like sites that promote their brand of elitism so strongly across the internet.

Yup, almost every single metalhead is a testorone-charged high schooler. Unless you are refering to people that act moronic over one simple piece of criticism.

 

 

 

99% of metalheads are either too young, too elitist, or they just don't care enough.

 

I wouldn't pre-judge every single metalhead since they are just being loyal to their bands, however stupid most of it is.

1. Labeling Pantera a nu-metal act probably setted off a ton of metalheads.

 

 

 

2. Not to be picky, but I believe the first post you had on the DT page was "Oh Lord." If you ask me, that sounds more like an excuse for a fight than "poor me, I got attacked for hating DT." Didn't do that when you said you disliked Pantera though. My only problem was that you labeled Pantera a "nu-metal" band, but hey, each one to his own I guess.

well, the number twelve looks like you. there older stuff is a lot better than their new album. and the dillinger escape plan. older mathcore band, both are really good.
