March 13, 200917 yr [hide=]I have this nagging feeling he was a Jew he would be a christian, a follower of his own beliefs Karl Marx was a marxist, Confucious was a Confucionist(spelling) etc. Well, he was a Christian in the end, but he was raised as a Jew.[/hide] my parents are catholics and I self identify as an agnostic. If you consider me agnostic then you must consider Jesus a christian Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.
March 14, 200917 yr I think it does matter because it shows how history can (quite literally in this case) whitewash things and change details. It's even more relevant when looking at ancient texts (such as the Bible) and how details can be altered over the course of a few thousand years. ps. If BC is Before Christ & AD is After Death what is the time when Jesus is alive called? BC is before Christ (though now I think it's called BCE - Before Common Era because of political correctness) AD is anno domini which is a latin phrase that translates to "the year of the lord" and is from the year Jesus was born up to...whenever the calendar is I guess OT: Jesus probably looked like everyone else back then looked. I doubt Jesus was either white or black, because he wasn't from Africa or western Europe.
March 14, 200917 yr Probably olive skin and middle-eastern appearance. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/3958241.stm The western depiction of Jesus makes no logical sense.
March 14, 200917 yr I don't really understand why it matters what color he is anyways. Doesn't really change anything. Unless he was purple, that would have been awesome.
March 14, 200917 yr my parents are catholics and I self identify as an agnostic. If you consider me agnostic then you must consider Jesus a christian Er. He was still Jewish. He just preached the Old Testament differently. Christianity is nearly just Judaism believing Jesus to be the savior of humanity, in its most basic form. Considering how often He preached against being that damn sure of yourself, I really believe He didn't die for His own sins. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
March 14, 200917 yr Jewish, Arabian, Roman. He could be anything. I don't really care what his skin color was.

I think Jesus's critiques of the jewish leadership at the time are too harsh to call him jewish. Similair to Martin Luther not being Catholic even though he followed the same core belief system Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.
March 14, 200917 yr I have this nagging feeling he was a Jew he would be a christian, a follower of his own beliefs Karl Marx was a marxist, Confucious was a Confucionist(spelling) etc. Well, he was a Christian in the end, but he was raised as a Jew. No, he was a Jew throughout his life. Christianity is based on his teachings, and people being split as to whether or not he was the son of God, or just a prophet. Same with Confuscious - others chose to follow his te4achings, enough that it is a religion. He was Middle Eastern yellowish-brown skinned, just as Adam and Eve would have been(if they existed) (The Garden of Eden was described as between the Tigris and Euphrates... or at least the Euphrates (Tigris and Euphrates was Mesopotamia)). Btw I hate history. Just Sayin'.
March 14, 200917 yr Thanks to someone's influence, the only thing I thought of when asked that question was "Jesus has dreadlocks, so shake em." :| 8,180WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME#1 Wongtong stalker.Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!
March 14, 200917 yr Author Well tbh, I have seen this trend throughout most churches either black or white, technically speaking, have their own depictions of Jesus. White people in white churches believe Jesus was white black people believe he was black.
March 14, 200917 yr Lets just say he was Chinese. Sorry, it came to mind and I was bored. Denizen of Darkness| PSN= sworddude198
March 14, 200917 yr Well they just want to identify with their messiah. I think it'd be fitting for them to think of what he would be now (according to their beliefs): Some luminous being meditatively floating through a sky without known dimensions, being utterly at peace and utterly godlike. If they really believe in what he did, they will identify with his actions and not his skin--for skin is simply the crude matter that binds our spirit, and it is torn away upon death and ascendancy to the afterlife. But I don't want to go among mad people!Oh, you can't help that. We're all mad here..."
March 14, 200917 yr Black. SWAG Mayn U wanna be like me but U can't be me cuz U ain't got ma swagga on.
March 14, 200917 yr He was Middle Eastern yellowish-brown skinned, Btw I hate history. This isn't history, and I presume jeebus was short and lanky-tall ? With blackish, brownish light hair ? Personally I think he was olive brown.

March 14, 200917 yr Southern Mediterranean sounds good. There's no way in hell he was fully black or fully white. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."

March 14, 200917 yr It wouldn't take much more than a few months, unless you were horribly unlucky. Not to mention, someone with eastern Asian appearances could be living in a region as near as Kazakhstan. Besides, not like a Chinese guy thought, "Oh, I bet a virgin is in Palestine right now! I should hurry!" catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

March 14, 200917 yr Well tbh, I have seen this trend throughout most churches either black or white, technically speaking, have their own depictions of Jesus. White people in white churches believe Jesus was white black people believe he was black. And how about my Chinese church? There's no way we depict him as some Asian dude who looks like Confucius. (That's how you spell it, for the record) I think I read somewhere that the Romans actually did know something about China. Of course that doesn't mean Jesus was Chinese (not like you guys are serious), but it...could...be...possible?
