They could do something similar like with the Fishing Cape, have a puddle appear and your player kneel down playing with the boat in it.

Well knowing how much jagex seem to like having fun playing with words, i think it would be funny to see a sailing joke, but some how not related in one bit to sailing on water.

I don't know about anybody else but I feel like the April Fool's joke just came yesterday.

what if they released "sailing" but whenever you tried to train it you fail, and then they announce it was a typo and the new skill is actually failing

wow, i have 30 warships and they arent even tradeable...

Seeing as they've hinted at highly anticipated items such as the dragon plate on April fools day, and considering they've recently told us that a dragon pick will be released fairly shortly, I think it will have to do something with the dragon pick. Seems hard to think of something for it but know jagex they''ll pull it off. ;)

Well you don't have to pay. It's not all about the rewards. I thought it was a good story and was a well put together quest. I would expect nothing less for 150. When I play a game I want a good story, not some piece of crap item I won't use. I got my good story and they even got to throw in a useless weapon. Everybody wins. (Except whiny people who complain when someone else doesn't meet their expectations)

 

 

 

As for the April fools joke, how about jagex releases npcs (at random levels) sailing around in boats.

I think they should temporarily release the sailing skill and tell everyone where to get items to train it but not actually put any of the items into the game.

Maybe something like a ships compass, or a ships wheel to let people think they'll eventually get to build a whole ship

They should say something like 100M will be awarded to the first person to level up in Sailing, then sit back and watch as everyone wonders why there's no sailing skill in the tab. Then continue the joke. For years more, periodically mention additions and updates to the sailing skill, while everyone scratches their heads and wonders where the hell the skill is.

everyone on this forum knows sailing won't happen. but that's like 5% of the population. the other 95% are a bunch of noobs, and that will be amusing for us to see them get pwnd

When you play with it, your person puts it infront of them.

 

It floats infront of your character, then you start turning it around a little before it fades away into your inventory again.

A new skill complete with master of it with cape that can't be started would be cool.

They should make a toy sailboat with a "ride" option. When you select it, you sit on the boat and crush it.
