May 6, 200917 yr Tuneing in, as I often do to Dr. Savage's show, I learned that the British Home Secratrary Jacqui Smith has put Dr. Savage on a list banning him from access to the country. The reason given was as follows "In an interview with the BBC, Smith said Savage, the No. 3-rated radio host in the U.S., is "someone who has fallen into the category of fomenting hatred, of such extreme views and expressing them in such a way that it is actually likely to cause inter-community tension or even violence if that person were allowed into the country." I take that quote from here: http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=97127 I am really ticked at that women right now. I have been a listener to his show for years now, and I can tell you there is no way he should be put in the same catagory as russian murderers, and members of Hamas. What are your views on this? Oh, and if you want to listen to the show, to at least hear the man they are banning, you can listen to him live on 910knew.com from 6-9PM Eastern Standard Time (-5 GMT). May 6, 200917 yr I think it's pretty stupid to ban someone from entering a country based on their views, no matter how abhorrent most people may find them. I'm a fan of trying to talk sense into people rather than banning them from entering countries. Sure, it's probably a lost cause most of the time, but at least we can say we were rational and level headed about it.
May 6, 200917 yr The article's funny. "Darn! And I was just planning a trip to England for their superior dental work and cuisine," he recalled thinking. "Coming to this country is a privilege," she said. "If you can't live by the rules that we live by, the standards and the values that we live by, we should exclude you from this country and, what's more, now we will make public those people that we have excluded." She's an arrogant one.
May 6, 200917 yr Michael Savage is a sick and twisted human being, promoting hatred and xenophobia day in and day out on his radio show. He views anyone that's not white and male as sub-human, and that they should treat their white male corporate masters with the utmost admiration and respect. However, free speech is something that I will always defend, and this is a horrible move by England.
May 6, 200917 yr "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." Get back here so I can rub your butt.
May 6, 200917 yr Arrogant people like her aren't really real people. Just like PETA and all the other nut jobs. If you choose your beliefs/lifestyle simply based on what your parents want, then you are a weak minded individual and are not even worthy of calling yourself a person.

May 6, 200917 yr Can i ask why was he banned? [hide=reason]On Hollywood Trashy women "A lot of these women look like post-op transvestites today" On Autistic Children "A fraud, a racket. ... In 99 percent of the cases, it's a brat who hasn't been told to cut the act out" more of what he has said: http://mediamatters.org/search/tag/michael_savage He's an older guy who didn't grow up with parents who catered to his every need, they never pandered to his feelings either. He says that he has had jobs taken away from him (before he became a talk radio host) by groups like affirmative action who would put less qualified minorities above him to fill their quota. He's on the fence, he bashes Bush all the time, bashes Obama all the time, Bashes Rush Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter, FOX news, CNN, MSNBC, New york times.[/hide] [hide=Examples of his show]On a Kid talking about overthrowing the government: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ze1SGzcu ... re=related On Miss USA: On McCain: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpiqq5cKXyk On Che Movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BM6mpNgo ... re=related On kids http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85oH5UDX ... re=related On Morality http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VlCD1Mbh ... re=related[/hide] I've listened to all radio hosts, whether they be liberal, conservative or independent, I've listened to Lionel, Maddow, Limbaugh, Levin, Savage, Hannity. One thing I've learned is, because liberal talk radio doesn't do as well as Conservative, they don't typically go on tirades like the conservatives do, they're calmer with their words, very PC, but they can be just as "hateful", I personally don't care what you say as a person. People say Bush should have been hung, if that doesn't top what Savage says I don't know what will, as a person who dislikes Obama I would NEVER say that. They lie, or exaggerate. It's hard to say Conservative talk radio hosts lie all the time, they don't. They heavily exaggerate though. Yes they have lied before, but it doesn't happen often, or groups like Media Matters will be on it, they will post on youtube for millions to see and they're toast. They watch themselves VERY VERY carefully. They know the business. Liberal talk show hosts do the same thing, but always tend to make a joke of it. Talk radio is for Conservatives, TV and news is for the liberals (with the exception of Fox News). I wouldn't say Fox is as biased as MSNBC, it has more of a CNN Bias, they watch their tracks, there's an obvious bias but always give the other side a bone. Now this is the commentators, I don't think the actually news is biased at any of these news stations. Shepard Smith (fox news) is a big liberal, the others are fairly fair I guess, don't watch them much. I had hope for CNBC but after their boss told them to stop criticizing Obama I gave up hope. On him being banned? I'm with dizzle229. I'm called a sexist because I oppose feminism, I'm a homophobe because I don't agree with homosexual marriage, I'm a racist because of this and that, because I call a black guy "black guy". That's how it goes for us right wingers, but I deal with it. I gave Maddow a chance, I gave Lionel and Air America a chance, but I couldn't stand them. I did Conservative talk radio, I don't listen that anymore. I watch MSNBC for my liberal bias and FOX for my republican bias (hard to say they're conservative). And Savage personally is a good guy, a lot of what he says makes sense, I usually zoned out when he went off on the nut job tirades They can say what they want, if they want to call me a sexist, homophobe, racist etc... Fine, I'll die defending that right. It's more important to keep what is great about this country rather than try to make a political point. What I've come to learn is they're all the same, left, right... Liars... doesn't mean they aren't good people, but don't believe everything you hear, trust me. I consider myself a Social Conservative, so of course I tend to lean on the right side. I'm a realist though, Social Conservatism is dead, if not it will be soon enough. Aw well, I missed the golden age, move on with life. I'm rambling on, 3am and I gotta go to school at 12.. Good night Ladies and Gents

The only form of government that will ever work is anarchy. Because a republic, like my country's, also fails, but the ways in which it fails are diferent. For example, solid gold toilet seat. May 6, 200917 yr Lol, Chained, I appreciate the fact that you gave a thoughtful post...but to call FOX News as "biased" as CNN is only correct in that CNN is a right-wing news channel. Fox isn't news, they're a circus. Shep Smith goes on shows like "Freedom Watch;" he is not a liberal. News flash, you are a sexist if you oppose feminism because feminism means equality for women. You are a homophobe if you don't want to give homosexuals equal rights. That's why I love free speech: when you say your disgusting racist, sexist and homophobic things out in public, the public will know that you're a racist, sexist homophobe. If we ban it with "hate-speech laws," you will say these things in private, making it harder to track bigoted people like yourself. As Oliver Willis noted, "If you ban certain types of speech, as the UK, Canada, and Germany do in one form or another, all it does is lend strength to the hatemongers. It tells them and their supporters that their speech is so powerful the government has to specifically restrict it."
May 6, 200917 yr much ado about nothing really. Yes is is daft of Jacqui Smith, but thats about it. Has he ever even been to England? And like he said, he wasn't exactly planning to. Never even heared of the bloke tbh.
May 6, 200917 yr News flash, you are a sexist if you oppose feminism because feminism means equality for women. You are a homophobe if you don't want to give homosexuals equal rights. In fairness the term feminism has lost a lot of its meaning; even with my support of legalized gay marriage I wouldnt jump to calling homophobe on anyone that opposes it On topic Rather foolish move, from what I can see here he seems to be rather extreme but its not beyond reasonable free speech. Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.
May 6, 200917 yr In fairness the term feminism has lost a lot of its meaning; even with my support of legalized gay marriage I wouldnt jump to calling homophobe on anyone that opposes it It hasn't lost its meaning, its meaning has been twisted by sexists like Rush Limbaugh. And I would. There's no reason to oppose gay marriage other than bigotry.
May 6, 200917 yr Author I can see Magekiller is trying to change this topic into a debate about Gay Marriage and Feminism. Please, go make another topic so that we might discuss these things for the thousandth time. As much as I would like to debate you on these matters, I won't do it here, because then this is just another topic that diverts so far away from the topic post, that it becomes something completely different. And we have allot of those already. I am about to listen to his show in a minute, and I will be sure to share with you all the latest news about this situation, as told by Michael Savage. May 6, 200917 yr Author OK, what the hell. Let's do it. Magekiller, on the whole issue of Gay Marriage, religious people everywhere find it offensive, and can quote the bible on why they don't want it. How about a Civil Union instead of Gay Marriage? That would give two people the same status as a married couple legally, but it wouldn't be disrespectful to religious people, as it's not being called marriage, or sanctioned by a religious authority, mearly the government. For that matter, a Civil Union could be used by anyone, regardless of sexual orientation, old widows for example who live together being one example. There you have it, my stance of Gay Marriage; it's a completely unnecessary, and avoidable issue. May 6, 200917 yr The guy is very obnoxious (and kind of offensive, he got kicked off the air for a bit about something a while ago) but apparently people listen to him, and this is a dumb move on Britain's part because he's just gotten free publicity. sig by Soa.....tip.it times.....art & mediadeviantart/flickr/last.fm/steam/twitter/tumblr/youtube
May 6, 200917 yr Magekiller, on the whole issue of Gay Marriage, religious people everywhere find it offensive, and can quote the bible on why they don't want it. There are also religious ideals that say it's good to kill people who don't follow the same religion as you. "Just because religion says so" is hardly a justification. There are tons of religions out there and many of them contradict each other. What if there was a religion saying it's wrong to disallow gay marriage?
