When the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!

Check out the Roots, Beastie Boys, Public Enemy, the first Nas CD (Illmatic), Run DMC, Common, Jurassic 5, Wu-Tang Clan, etc.

Lupe Fiasco is great.

I second the Beastie Boys, Public Enemy and the first Nas album. Truly great hip-hop.

GZA / Genius - Liquid Swords

Madlib - Shades of Blue

Madvillain - Madvillainy

DJ Shadow - Endtroducing....

Nujabes - Metaphorical Music and Modal Soul

Dalek - Abandoned Language

GZA and Nujabes are my favourite hip-hop artists.

Lupe Fiasco is great.

This is the only hiphop artist I have an album of on my mp3 player.

I'd rather get a quick few answers before bed so I can download overnight, instead of waiting til after school for answers.

I remember some of the stuff from him on the radio, surprisingly, it was good :P thats a yes.

Havent heard the first 3 wow. I havent heard Nas' first, I've got one song of his  (which is, ironically, the one that made me liking rap/ hiphop again :o )-- I didnt like Run DMC, a friend at school had some o.O, havent heard Jurassic 5, and my brother used to listen to Wu-Tang clan, I'll check them all out.

Thanks :)

I agree with most of those. Especially GZA and Wu Tang.

WONGTONG IS THE BEST AND IS MORE SUPERIOR THAN ME

#1 Wongtong stalker.

Im looking for some No Limit soldiers!

Get the new Method Man & Redman CD Blackout! 2. It comes out on the 19th. I"m listening to it right now and it is amazing. I'm definitely going out on Tuesday and picking up and actual copy of it .. Check out Lupe Fiasco, Mos Def, Lil Wanye, The Cool Kids, Kanye. There is a lot out of good stuff out there it just takes some looking to find it.

Look into Aesop Rock, some people don't like the sound of his voice or something but his lyrics are pretty much amazing.

Mainstream.. You name two artist who haven't even released a single CD as "mainstream". Wale & Kid Cudi have only released mixtapes. B.I.G. on the other hand is/ was a "mainstream" rapper.

I like Aesop Rock's voice. He has a unique sound.

ps Wu Tang Clan also announced today that they are coming out with a new CD on the 30th of June. All new stuff.

Does being a mainstream rapper make them less talented than a rapper that hasn't released a CD as mainstream or something?

No. Kid Cudi is has actually become one of my favorite rappers. I was trying to say that it is hard to call someone mainstream when they haven't actually released a studio album. I was NOT trying to say that mainstream music is bad.

Mobb deep - Shook ones pt2

Mobb Deep - Survival of the fittest

Jurassic 5 - Whats golden

Jurassic 5 - Jurass finish first

Wu-Tang clan - Protect ya neck

Wu-tang Clan - Triumph (Inspectah deck is sickkk)

Gang Starr - Code of the streets

Public Enemy - By the time i get to arizona

Jedi mind tricks - Storm of swords

Erick b and Rakim - My Melody (a classic diss line in there)

Mr Hyde - Street veterans pt2 (one of my favorites)

Twiztid - Die mfer Die

Twiztid - Hom sha bom

Just some of the tracks i have taht i enjoy anytime. Just a quick note, Twiztid runs with the psychopathic crew. It is classified as "horrorcore rap" but these two are good nonetheless. Twiztid is also the best lyrical duo on the label

Rap is veery hot or miss.

Didnt get to download anything from last night because of my rushing and I woke up 20 mins til school..

Gonna start with Lupe Fiasco, just cause I remember a few songs I liked.

Then I'm going to Nas' album, same reason.

Maybe then onto Wu Tang clan.

Anyone who has all of:

Lupe's first album,

Lupe's second album,

And Nas' album, Illmatic,

How large are each in Megabytes?

I gotta know so I can be sure to cram what I want into my 4gb Zen :P

EDIT: First Lupe album was 98mb. I got all info I need I guess - no need for this thread.

Thanks all.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Food & Liquor for me is 99.3MB; The Cool is 134.6MB. I thought I had the NAS CD but I guess I had gotten rid of it.. But I'm sure it was no more then 90MB.
