What defines you as a runescaper

I'd like to know what defines you as a Runescape player. What I mean is what images come to mind when you think about Runescape; is it task after task of slayer monsters and the drops they relinquish? Is it the thrill of a PK or boss kill? Or is it a bank fat with raw materials for skilling? Among those images, what words pop into your mind as you think about your defining Runescape characteristics. Xp and Gp probably (if those be words at all) but anything in particular? Among the mere sensory descriptions, what ideological descriptions best, er, describe your own personal Runescape experience? Is it combat, fletching, runecraft, Stealing Creation, or maybe just Penguin hunting? Keep in mind that there is a lot of action within even just one Runescape character, so I'm sure everyone's definition of their experience is grand in scope, but I'd bet 2.1bil that nobody could honestly say "Oh it's everything".

I'm just interested in the perspective of my fellow scapers, to see how different this game is played.

When I think about RS, I think: yew trees, rune armor, green dragonhide armor, and a lot of newbs/n00bs.

As for RS characteristics, I think: simplistic images, illogical fallacies, and the words "plz," "buy," and "sell."

My own personal RS experience is defined as: chopping yew trees like there's no tomorrow, ranging Ice Giants like there's no tomorrow, and trying to even out my stats before my brain explodes.

My account.

To answer in such simplistic terms, to a question requiring a great deal of insight, is to do your experience no justice. I'm sure you do more in your runescape playing then just having an account.

This is some insight I find interesting; the perspective of a f2p player. This isn't something I'm at all used to, and shows an accurate picture of one particular Runescape experience, in short.

I make small goals for myself, and feel satisfied after completing them. I play Runescape for the new things that there are to do. Either by them being released, or me unlocking the requirements to do them. There's always something new around the corner, and when I think of Runescape, I wonder what new thing I can experience next.

What defines you as a runescaper

Obscene, just obscene if I'm brutally honest.

care to elaborate?

Doubt it. I think people are just making horrible attempts at jokes.

I second that. Last time I laughed with 3hitu must have been when I found out he called himself the first "initiate pure" or whatever other term he invented.

Now on topic: I define myself as a player that wants a balanced character, wants to train the most efficient ways. Also, I'm pretty greedy so I don't buy things impulsively. I like to think more (analyse, calculate, compare, ...) about how I'm going to train a skill, than actually train it

Quitting every other month, being convinced to come back by by friend every month after that, setting long term goals, giving up on those long term goals half way through, grind, sarcasm, skilling, collecting useless bits and bobs of junk, fruitless efforts towards getting a 99 cape.

This is all after the end of 2008, beforehand, what defined me was this.

Monster hunting, RS friends, mini-games, money-making, skilling, having a laugh with anyone that'd chat and questing.

Funny how much my attitude towards Runescape has changed, I've never really thought about it this much before, a while ago it was a game I played for long stretches of time, now it's a game I have mild interest in and that kills empty time, I'm just not motivated anymore, the last time I quit, I fell out of touch with practically everyone on my friend's list, so without anyone to play with, it gets dull, fast for me.

i play for trash talking others, the thrill of pking, making great friends, working towards goals and ranks, and occasionally getting away from reality.

Me working on 99's is what makes me a runescape player. The capes, and the enjoyment of saying I "My [insert skill] Is level 99" is what defines me as a runescape player.

The Images I get in my mind is my grinding on skills for hours a day trying to achive a 99, as well talking with friends as well.

What defines me as a runescaper is my constant trying to get all skills to a balanced level. Unsuccessfully, of course. Due to my laziness. Train, train, train...only 12936 xp left...maybe I'll come back after a "quick" game of clan wars. After 1 hour...pah! I've got to get back to skilling. Crap! Its time to go. The next day, repeat after training about 2-3k xp... I get distracted too easily. But who cares? RS is a game. Its not like you HAVE to get all skills to a certain level to earn real money or something like that.

I also love posting on the forums, but because I'm not a member, I can only watch all the debates in the RSOF, even though I really want to post. Of course, I'm too lazy to get 12.5M xp so I can post in the RSOF. I'm already discouraged from posting in the RSOF, seeing all the flame f2p players get. That's where tip.it comes in. Its a great forum here, with a much better community than the RSOF, which is filled with spammers, flamers, and a FEW mature and sensible people. And you just have to create a free account to post!

What defines me is my ugly half-bald monk-looking green hair and beard. The fact that I don't have a training outfit and will usually look pretty noobish when skilling. I guess I'm a true slayer because I kept on slaying past 99 for the enjoyment of the skill.
