When I first became a member and ran around doing all those quests, I gained a magic level from all the teleports. :lol:

It's from 5th of April 2003. The only accidental level up I remember. I was waiting for a friend to come online to kill him for it and I was 3 exp away from the level and while fishing.. poof.

I have had this happen a couple of times while doing combat. Once was a magic level from casting alchemy on a black square shield and once while cooking lobsters to use against lesser demons.

This is true, too. I never realize I'm close until I get it.

Almost never. I keep track of my skills and use lamps on the ones that are closest to leveling. Once they are under 10k (or I just need to gain a level for the day) I train them and move to the next skill. Congratulations on the magic level anyway.

I remember back in RSC I would get a random level up message while walking around. It was when you would half kill a monster, and then minutes later someone else kills the monster, giving you the xp.

 

 

 

I remember this, I got a strength level while fishing lobs. Needless to say, I was pretty confused.

i teled to varrock once and got a surprise mage lvl

I got 84-85 magic completely through Ourania and lunar isle teleports. It wasn't really a surprise, but it was neat because I never spent one second actually training the skill.

I both love leveling skills and find them to come few and far between. Sometimes they sneak up, but I'm usually ready for them.

 

 

 

It happened a lot when they were in the lower levels.

56-59 mage were accidental.

 

50-53 agility was accidental.

i mostly keep track of my stats, but somethings do slip past. i remeber telying to varrac and geting a mage level by mestake :)

 

 

 

this also reminds me of something, of topic but meh, some player was at the ge when i was around and he sayd he needed 3 xp till 99 mage.

70-94 fletching was pretty "accidental" on muggi too. I fletched a ton of bows to alch back when alching was legit. was never interested in the fletching lvls, though

Yeah when I first leveled my attack to 2, I was like OMFG! 8-)

Almost never now since levels take so long to get up, you'd go insane like a kid with A.D.D. always checking his stats... but it happened quite a lot when I was lower level. :lol: And sometimes when I save a level up, which means I only have a few exp points left for it, I accidently do something and it accidently levels up (Why bother putting in xp in agility shortcuts when that xp is only 1 exp?) :wall:

i get the odd hp level now and then but thats about it.

I'm actually not expecting most of my levels. I'm usually not overly concerned with when my next level will be, I just train. The only times I've actually had a accidental level were a Magic level once while teleporting, and a Ranged level and another Magic level from combat familiars.

I usually watch my levels, but every now and then I lose track of a skill and get a surprise level.

Nah, the xp difference is too big for me to accidently get a level.

Back in the glory days of RSC I would say that most of my levels were accidental/unexpected. Back then I just focused my energy on making money, and most skills had a pretty even way of making money. So I would mine coal one day, fish the next, etc.

 

 

 

Nowadays monster drops are about 100x faster than using skills for money so thats the only thing I find myself doing. If I ever skill, its just for the exp.

Level-ups cannot surprise me anymore. Too great of an XP gap between every level. Since I usually take a screenshot of every level up message, I'd like to be able to be aware WHEN it will happen so as to not miss it. :
