What movie(s) did you last see?

Featured Replies

Scarface - Extremely impressed. Really liked the story and Al Pichino was amazing. He had depth and emotion I felt. Just ashame its been taken over by black rappers and chavs.

40 yr old virgin - One of those films which just washes over you. Funny in places but the acting has no emotion or depth, very linear storyline. But its that sort of film.

And no lol why do you always want to get stuff from John Lewis. Its over ̣̉300 more then than what i paid.

John Lewis is a great, great shop.

Metropolis - 1927 german silent science fiction film. at first, that doesnt make it sound to good. and while i was watching it at the begining, i was wondering why it was so high on the imdb list (61). for about the first 15 minutes, i kept on looking at the timer, just waiting to get it over with. but after that, i started to notice a lot more of the movie. once you get into it, you are hooked. for a 1927 movie, the special effects are absolutely amazing. i havent watched many (maybe not any) science fiction movies that are so old they are silent, so i dont know how it compares to them. for the movie's artistic appretiation rating i would give it a 10/10. silent films arent really my thing though, my opinion would be it was good.

High Noon - westerns arent really my thing. if you like westerns, try it out. 101 on the list, apperantly some people think its pretty good. gary cooper did pretty well, and i always enjoy seeing grace kelly on screen  .

benchwarmers- 1 of the funniest u will ever see

exorcist 1-scary and funny sumtimes but a lot of killing in it

constantine-very good movie about satan a lot of good scenes in it

I watched Underworld: Evolution. I saw Underworld like 3 years ago, so I pretty much completely forgot the story. I was pretty confused by the story for the first half because of this. This movie pretty much played out like this: Action sequence-explosion-speech-repeat. There's pretty much not a piece of creativity in sight. The action is fair enough that it keeps this movie from being utter trash, but it still isn't very good. And half the time it's too dark to see anything.

Just saw the original Matrix for the first time. I saw the last 10 minutes of it on a plane flight a couple years ago, but never got around to watching the whole thing. I enjoyed it :)

last movie i saw/watching while i post this "NOT ANOTHER TEEN MOVIE" LOL THAT IS A FUNNY MOVIE

I watched A Streetcar Named Desire. It was OK. I understood the main plot and characters, but a lot of the underlying symbolism was unclear to me. This detracted from the movie considerably, though I was still able to make sence of the movie. It just wasn't as good, it was pretty subtle, and there were a few things I missed both visually and audioly (my couch is way to far from my TV, and there's something terrible wrong with out sound system where it doesn't play any sound from the TV speakers (which are much better for spoken dialogue)). I clearly missed a lot, but I wasn't paying as deep attention as I maybe should have (there was so much dialogue to concentrate on, I didn't have much time to reflect on what I was hearing). It looked fine, good acting, and while I picked up some of the symbolism, it's a shame I wasn't able to pick up more.

+1 movies on IMDB 250. Also, +1 good movies seen from the 50's. Up to 9.

the last movie that i watched was called the da vinci code which was rubbish lol

I saw Running Scared. It was another very R-rated movie (I'm just saying; this has nothing this has nothing to do with quality). It was good, fun action, very thrilling, though it had some eye-brow raising twists. Let's be clear: When watching this movie, you're very sure you're watching a movie. The events and characters are so unlikely that it becomes pretty outlandish, and there are some noticable plot holes. BUT, it still serves to be very entertaining, occassionally cheer inducing, and overall unrelentlessly thrilling. In fact, the crazed story adds to the fun factor, and I was quite enjoying myself: I rarely looked at the DVD player timer, so that is a very good thing (many movies I do that every few minutes). It looked pretty good and was edited well, and I'd definately recommend it so long as you realise it's a very R-rated movie (the 267 F-words...they were clearly going for a high number, many of the usages make little to no sence).

P.S. I swear the cafe they are in at the end is the same one from Pulp Fiction.

Big Fish - watched it with my family. not quite as "wow" as the first time i watched it, but still good.

Fabuleux destin d'Am̮̩̉̉lie Poulain, Le - still pretty good the second time around, if you like romance movies this is one of the better ones.

Waiting... - i work in a resteraunt, so this probably is funnier for me than normal. not much to it, its just a funny movie.

Last movies I've seen have been... Nacho Libre, Fight Club, The Boondock Saints, and X3...all enjoyable.

Cars Watched this friday night and earlier today(once with a friend and today with my family.) Still not sure why everyone thought it was going to be this great movie. The funny parts were ok and some of the stuff I didn't see on the first part(and really didn't see on the second until my dad pointed out to me) was cool(the cadillacs buried in the desert was the biggest.) My opinion is that Over the Hedge is a better movie.

Forest Gump Great movie, especially the beginning with the music playing and the feather floating around.

Just finished watching LA RÃÆÃâÃâ¹Ã¢â¬Â GLE DU JEU which was very good. A recommendation for those who loved Altman's GOSFORD PARK. Very complex, rich comedy and social painting of France in the years between war. 8.5/10

Walk The Line

I watched this one with my parents because they grew up with Johnny Cash's music, I didn't really know that much about Johnny Cash before I saw this film apart from the obvious, but it really got me into him. The two main actors were superb, convincing enough to almost make it a documentary. Reese Witherspoon deserved her Oscar. I really enjoyed this film.

"Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

On DVD: I watched My Life as a Dog which was great.

At cinema: Ages ago now, I watched A History of Violence which was good enough but a bit disappointing given that it was Cronenberg

X Men 3: Thought this was a good film and finished off the storyline well. I enjoyed the trilogy as a whole.

MI3: I had seen the first, but not the second MI so was thinking I wouldn't understand this one, but surprisingly I did and enjoyed it too. Some very nice effects in it too.

The Da Vinci Code: Was kind of wary of seeing this film as i thought I wouldn't like it. Hadn't read the book either. However it turned out to be quite interesting with a decent storyline and twists to it. Difficult to keep up though when they are talking about some stuff though, might need to watch it again to fully understand everything, although watching it for a 2nd time could be quite boring.

Jarhead: Bought this on DVD because I didn't manage to catch it at the cinema. Thought it was a good film as it is a bit different from the usual war films. Good mix of seriousness and humour.

Bad Timing (1980 - Nicholas Roeg) - Excellent (crime)drama. Kind of went trough it on auto-pilot. Great zoom shots, brilliant editing work and very well written. Also the actors give a very good preformance (especially Theresa Russel). It's kind of overwhelming, I don't really know much to say about it, as it made quite a big impression. Hm. Just go and see it for yourself.

Kinky Boots - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0434124/

I was expecting this to be a really bad comedy, but it was surprisingly serious and quite moving. (Well about as moving as a movie about Cross Dressers can get).

there's going to be another one.

Has anyone seen Nacho Libre yet? I'm thinking of watching it :-k

looks stupid, but so did napolean. turns out napolean was stupid, but still funny. so i dont know if i want to see it or not either.

Outland - nothing special, did keep me interested through about 3/4 of it. not bad, but just something id probably only watch once.

Rush Hour - movie wise, not all that great. but i found it funny sometimes, so i enjoyed it. another one i probably wont watch again.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - its a western, and they are not exactly my thing. i did enjoy it though, as i have the past few westerns ive watched. probably because i never watch them, unless they are on the top 250 list. anyways, the movie was filmed really well, but it did seem at a few points that it was going for the "arty" effect just for kicks. dont know how to explain it, maybe "phony." but that makes it sound really bad, and it was just barely there. i liked the ending.

Yeah. I thought it looked stupid but I went because so far Mike White (the writer) hasn't disappointed me - and he didn't again. It was really, really funny. It wasn't stupid funny like Napoleon Dynamite - it was funny like School of Rock.
