After noticing that suomi and others open effigies with herb and con I decided to post this

I don't use perfect rates in this because it wasn't made for being used here. Don't ask why I haven't shown agil/crafting but that's a no brainer anyway :P

Herblore v Hunter

[hide]

30k would save 30/750 hours of herblore training or 30/250 hours hunting

It would also save 460k on herblore costs.

Using effigies on hunter is better if

30/250 > 30/750 + 460/V

V > 5750k

[/hide]

Thieving v construction

[hide]

30k would save 30/750 hours of construction training or 30/200 hours thieving

It would also save 450k on construction costs.

Using effigies on thieving is better if

30/200 > 30/750 + 450/V

V > 4090k[/hide]

Smithing v mining[hide]

30k mining saves 30/95 hours mining. 30K mining also gives 20k smithing xp.

Because of this, by using the effigy on smithing you are effectively saving yourself 50k smithing xp (50/250 hours) and 380k gp.

If investigating with mining is better then

30/95 > 50/250 + 380/V

V > 3300k[/hide]

Farming v fishing[hide]

A typical farm run of 6 palm, 5 magic and 1 calquat tree gives 143k xp in 8 minutes giving it an xp rate of 1060k. 16.9gp/xp

30 farming xp saves 30/1060 hours and 510k gp

30k fishing xp gives 5k agility so 30k free fishing xp saves 30/70 – 5/70

Using effigies on fishing is better if

30/70 – 5/70 > 30/1060 + 510/V

V > 1550k[/hide]

Cooking v Firemaking[hide]

(cooking wines and firemaking magic logs)

Firemaking is slower and more expensive so there is no reason to open effigies with cooking.[/hide]

Fletching v Woodcutting[hide]

(broad arrows and teaks)

30k would save 30/700 hours of fletching or 30/110 hours woodcutting but the loss of 14k firemaking xp reduces time saved by 14/450 and an extra 60k needs to be spent on magic logs

It would also save 280k on fletching costs.

Using effigies on woodcutting is better if

30/110 – 14/450 – 60/V > 30/700 + 280/V

V > 1700k[/hide]

Runecrafting v Summoning[hide]

If you use lamps on summoning you will still be using the same amount of blue and crim charms but fewer green charms are used. Therefore I will be using the green charm method for this comparison.

30k xp saves 30/40 hours runecrafting or 30/460 hours summoning and 430k gp. Profit from zmi is too small to count

If using effigies on runecrafting is better then

30/40 > 30/460 + 430/V

V > 630k[/hide]

Is there really a need to calculate out woodcutting vs fletching? Using effigies on fletching is completely stupid no matter how much you value your time at (just like firemaking vs cooking). You could at least fletch magic longbows and not lose money instead of spending more time woodcutting at 140k xp/h. I believe stringing magic longbows is around 220k xp/h?

I just tried it out and it's about 2,520 strung/h or 230k xp/hr

Profit was 25 gp/ea or 63k gp/h

Lower your expectations for people lol. It's summer basically and they're only human. 50-55 hours is more than a full work week btw.

You obviously don't know Tezz. Wait, neither do I.

My frined has told me Tezz has been playing 16 hours a day for the last few years. When somebody like that suddenly stops gaining xp... You're making it sound like I think Tezz is terrible for only having a 15m hunter week or something. Originally I was just pointing out Tezz's gains stop. Idk what's your problem with that

16 hours a day for 2 years is unrealistic. As it is the 51 hours he did is over 7 hours a day at max capacity. Props for that.

Tell that to Drumgun.

I don't understand what you mean by "As it is the 51 hours he did is over 7 hours a day at max capacity. Props for that."

All I'm saying is 15m xp in a week at 290k xp/h is over 7 hours a day while staying at max efficiency. Climate noted it was only 5 days so thats about 10 hours a day at max efficiency. I said props for that cuz it's more than I'll ever hunt. I hate hunter. But yea the last 2 days I'm sure he's doing something more interesting than runescape and I don't blame him.

Thai - all good except the last one. Which seems to claim that the rc xp rate is 40k per hour?

hmm plus didnt notice the above. Although the 320k thief xp that Thai usually uses is physically impossible.

As I said before I am not using perfect rates because it wasn't intended to be used here.

Also it isn't for 99 runecrafters. More like 80-91
