August 9, 200916 yr Let me set the stage here: I log in, and I continue to Mine my Rune Essence, or do whatever various skill I was working on when I last logged off, and I meet someone. They ask me my levels, how much money I have, preferences on training skills, we talk for a bit, and then finally, he or I has to log off. They ask the question, "Friends?" My reply, "Sorry, friends list full." Why is it that we do this? I know I'm not alone, with this either. I came to this conclusion; sure, the guy's nice and all, he could be a good friend and someone to talk to when I log in. Then again, he could also be one of those people you add and forget about. The ones you eventually delete from your list without remorse. You knew you weren't going to talk to them again, yet you added them anyway. Why? Tell me why you think you, or people you know/encountered do this. Click the pictures for my Blog

August 9, 200916 yr Just tell them no, its not that hard. Pff he's not offering you drugs. If they where drugs why say no  And really most people that ask me to add them are low levels that annoy me.

August 9, 200916 yr I don't have the heart to say no. I usually end up adding them, then deleting them, and adding them to ignore when they log off. Previously known as Monkeybeast0.
August 9, 200916 yr I do it as a nice way to say no. It is like saying "I would add you but restrictions in the game do not allow me to". I honestly can not add everyone that asks me...Rich + Ex-P2P + Mod = 4dd m3 pl0x? For the record, I have 98 friends and I am F2P so I am almost not lying ;)
August 9, 200916 yr Blatantly saying "no" often makes you seem like an [wagon], in my opinion. If the person in question is too stupid to realize you're lying, then no harm is done by stating your list is full. I used that excuse to prevent hurting feelings plenty of times. Are you winning The Game?
August 9, 200916 yr I normally tell them that I have my chat on so they can PM me if they want, however with the increasing amount of annoying people PMing me I turned it to friends. I have one person on my friends list. I don't know any of you guys in real life, and emotional attachment is just not my thing.
August 9, 200916 yr Usually I will just say "nah", sounds better than a straight "no". Works most of the time and sometime they will ask why. :wall: Then I'll just stop saying anything. August 9, 200916 yr I usually add, unless I know 100% I'll never say a word to the person. Usually I don't get to know the person well enough to feel bad for deleting them. Only 100% Friends are people I talk to and RL friends.
August 9, 200916 yr I just don't add people that quickly. Everyone, and I mean everyone in my list are people whom I've known/talked to for a long time while skilling or from clan chat. I've had one too many encounters with people who just want to use/befriend me because I'm a mod or I possess a certain item they want to borrow. August 9, 200916 yr I usually just say no thanks to "friends?". But a lot of times people come up "fm emote plz" i do emote "your cool, friends?" To which I respond no thanks, thats not a good way to make friends. I'm sick of people adding me and me adding them, then they ONLY thing they ever say is hi when i log in. Or sometimes they randomly say bye before they log off. I hate it.
August 9, 200916 yr I only add people I know really well, e.g. friends from school, (about 20/30 of my friends list...) and people I have known for a long time in the game (like when I first started). So, my friends list will never be full (Unless I meet like an extra 150+ friends irl...). If they ask me for help, I help them then they say "friends?" I'll just say "sorry, I don't really know you". They usually say kk and kthxbye :P
August 9, 200916 yr Its a nicer way of saying, **** off, I don't add randoms who just quick-chatted his stats, told me to quick-chat mine, and then shared half a coherent sentence before stating ADD ME PLZ. O.O

August 9, 200916 yr If they are nice I normally add them and make the effort to have a chat again. Afterall they could be a gr8 new friend or someone to recruit to my clan, whats the worst that happens? You don;t speak to them again and therefore delete them after a month or so? August 9, 200916 yr Or your like me, who has 100's of friends who never talk. I'm sure one of them were useful to me, like that one with 91 rc... Hmm which one. O.O
August 9, 200916 yr i actually do have a full FL, so yes, i say it, but i dont lie. I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come
August 9, 200916 yr I usually say something about how I don't know them well enough to be friends, and if they can't accept that, well then they probably wouldn't have been a good friend anyway.
August 9, 200916 yr When you add someone you don't have to talk to them every time they log in. I find it fun to see a green dot on the mini map and chat with them before I go back to the thing I was doing. But I don't usually add the first person that asks me what my fm lvl is, most of the people on my list are Tifers that I know for a longer time. :P Proud (retired) Tip.it Times Editor! August 9, 200916 yr Daily I get "Hi Carl" in-game / clan chat, then after a week or so of being greeted and chatting to whoever said it they ask me to add them. I've, I think, 3 spaces left on my friendslist to add people who have questions to ask. Which is..every day. Therefore, I don't like adding random people for no reason. When they ask, I generally will say that I can't as I've only got a small amount of spaces on my list for people that have questions/need help. Or else just "No.", but I'm not that mean. :P RIP Michaelangelopolous
August 9, 200916 yr I tend to add anyone that asks. I was F2P for two and a half years (only recently became a member : ) and had easily 150 friends. The majority of them were random pm's/people that I helped out and wanted to ask other questions. I was constantly removing/adding people, which did get annoying. I don't like saying 'no' to someone, if they're generally interested in being friends, no matter what for ;) RIP Michaelangelopolousu can control my tip it account, but youll never control how fine i am!This is by FAR my favorite song: I love N_odie and would never edit his posts! I love Rainy_Day too <3 And also Cowman_133. <33 Oh, and Laikrob is a going to hunt me down and kill me like a pest kangaroo if I reveal how awesome she is. I owe tripsis skittles. DarkDude feels like he's missing out. This is my siggy! - n_odie Rainy_Day MINE! - n_odie Rainy_Day And meol shouldn't feel left out. Oh, and Y_Guy is a noob awesome
August 9, 200916 yr I say it all the time, but thats because I do have a list with 200 people on that talk pretty regular. 2376/2376 total achieved - May 2009 Retired Dec 2009
August 9, 200916 yr I've 8 friends, 7 of them who I know IRL and 1 who I met through a friend. I usually have my public chat on "friends" so no-one I don't know can bother me. :)
