September 4, 200916 yr Nizze 20 asks: Do you think luck is too dominant in RuneScape? Im especially thinking of combat, since a level 100 could easily beat a lvl 130 with a stroke of luck. Personally I dont think that is fair, but I'd like to hear your opinion. I dont think luck is too dominant but I can understand how people get frustrated when they get a sudden run of bad luck. Unfortunately, statistically, a sudden run of good or bad luck in a truly random system is a lot more likely than you might think. This is why you can sometimes not get any good drops for far longer than you expect and then suddenly get two good ones in a single go. Ive wondered about making it less random by using random number tables rather than making each random decision in isolation, such that after a roll of the die is used up you are less likely to get that result again until you have also had the other results the die can give. This would leave it somewhat random but make it impossible to get a run of bad or good luck. However, Im not sure, and wonder if removing that would take something away from the game. Please Andrew! Please please please do whatever it is to do to numb the luck factor in this game. Luck in this game is not a good thing. The only thing you would be taking away is the annoyance of bad luck.
September 4, 200916 yr I love how people insist on Andrew being in charge, despite him not being the majority holder. Neither Andrew nor Mark have the ability to walk in to the office and demand a skill is added or content updated against the will of others. Owning 37.5% of a company (last stated figure) doesn't make you the boss. Neither does starting it if you didn't maintain majority holdings. I hope we get more penguins :) I hadn't laughed out loud in Runescape in about 6 years before I did the penguin quests!
September 4, 200916 yr Penguins turn this game into a kids game? It's funny how some people claim it is childish whenever they don't like something. Come on.. this is a game. A fantasy game. Ment for enjoyment. If you want something mature, go read something about rocket science or something. Twitter ||| Google+ ||| Facebook ||| LinkedIn ||| My very interesting weblog about science
September 4, 200916 yr So Andrews the one making this a kiddy game... honestly, [bleep] penguins in Runescape. That is just so stupid I can't even explain it. It's on par with stupidity of making cats such a big deal in this game. Hypocrite. Since when are cats such a big deal in the game?Well, they play an integral part in the Sophomin and Menaphos desert quests, there's a Tale of Two Cats, and Rat Catchers. That's quite a bit of clout. Though cat's aren't really childish... just look at Puss in Boots. Thats because sphinxes and cats are a large part of egyptian culture. D'oh. AND NO PENGUIN HATING HERE OR ELSE I GET THE TIF PENGUIN I was going to say that, but i gusse you beat me to it. Cats are almost sacred in egyptian culture and i think runescape resembles that. Also this interview was a fantastic read in my opinion. It was nice and simple. Gamertag: EFs Predator.Games I play: Halo 3, Halo wars.

September 4, 200916 yr Zhang Fee asks: A lot of players did mentioned, that your IP (internet Protocol) has effect on several things in RuneScape. If Players click in the same tick rate on something the Player with the better IP gets it. For example: Flag at Castle Wars, Attacking a Monster in non-multi area, closing and opening doors/gates. Are you going to change this in the future? Yes, we are planning on fixing this shortly. And everybody said it was a myth when us cw'ers said ip has an effect  Hopefully they can make it work well. finally they decide to do something... but now i can get a .0 omfg. still have a feeling they might hurt the game by doing this also. Finally.. Quit competitive cw for like 2 years because of this, really hope they do something soon :) My Blog2 Visage Drops.Over 1800 Castle Wars Tickets..
September 4, 200916 yr I still like Andrew. He's the backbone of that place and keeping it going. He's pretty much the Jagex handyman. He fixes and redoes the lines of code. He redsigns the place so it looks better than it did before. He engineers it so the other have more than they can do. Basically he let MMG run it because Andrew is more concerned with actually working on the game and making it better. This website and its contents are copyright © 1999 - 2010 Jagex Ltd.

He is less experienced on the corporate side and nobody knows the engine better than him. Looks pretty simple on paper, but you'd be surprised how many people try and insert themselves at the top level and fail.

September 5, 200916 yr Level 85/90 content. Sounds good I wonder how smithing will turn out if they update it. Gamertag: EFs Predator.Games I play: Halo 3, Halo wars.
September 5, 200916 yr Level 85/90 content. Sounds good I wonder how smithing will turn out if they update it. Smithing isn't on the hitlist in my opinion it get's updated fairly frequently. Members have members only smithable items although you could argue members need something higher than rune, but spirit shields etc are already highly prized smithable items (from drops of course) Be nice if they added a rare ore to rocks with a low chance of getting it that's highly prized and takes some mining to get to encourage people to raise mining although it'd be unrealistic lol
September 5, 200916 yr My question didn't get answered :(. Well, Andrew sure gave a lot of interesting answers to other questions though. I really like it that the very own creator of RS takes time to do such a thing as this. It's cool to see him posting on the forums, really. Thank you for doing this :) Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
