September 3, 200916 yr Zhang Fee asks: A lot of players did mentioned, that your IP (internet Protocol) has effect on several things in RuneScape. If Players click in the same tick rate on something the Player with the better IP gets it. For example: Flag at Castle Wars, Attacking a Monster in non-multi area, closing and opening doors/gates. Are you going to change this in the future? Yes, we are planning on fixing this shortly. And everybody said it was a myth when us cw'ers said ip has an effect  Hopefully they can make it work well. Want to be my friend? September 3, 200916 yr I like Andrew way more than MMG. Andrew can leak whatever he likes, he's the boss, MMG has to take orders from Andrew, you like Andrew for leaking, yet MMG has to do his job. I like all the staff equally but Andrew has been there such a long time so maybe I favour him slightly! Huh? I thought MMG became CEO? According to my memory MMG is boss now, and Andrew an employee. Here's my blog: restoring it soon | Achieved 99 Crafting Quoting yourself is laaaaame
September 3, 200916 yr Andrew is the mainstock owner still so he owns the company, and first page on topic ftw.
September 3, 200916 yr Better interview than most. Can tell its not full of fluff. He is the 'man' though. (Stated in a question somewhere) VMeh BlogV >Miscellaneous Goals< http://www.rsbandb.com/sigs/sig108/bazzaminxer.png

September 3, 200916 yr everyone seems to love this This is the year of upgrades/updates, what is your planned theme for next year? Well, I think having a theme for a whole year may be overdoing it a bit. Next year will just be the year of awesomeness. this means we get 2 new skills and new combat system! =P[/end wish] this sounds cool! =D Played since February 200113th to 30 huntingfiremaking cape achieved 6th August 2008_-_-_-_Quest cape achieved 19th August 2009

And everybody said it was a myth when us cw'ers said ip has an effect  Hopefully they can make it work well. The server processing requests in order they are received is pretty par for the course in any MMO or online game. All they can really do to fix it is add a delay in doing things and randomly assigning the task to anyone who tried to do it during that delay. The problem would still exist because it would be possible for Player A to request to grab the flag/the monster, game begins waiting for next tick, player B with a 300ms ping clicks at 0.3 seconds (half way through a tick) and player A will still get it since the action occurs at the 0.6 second tick mark. If longer delays are added it would get annoying for certain things (mainly killing weaker monsters) if there was a 1 second+ delay on everything. So I imagine they'll be implementing more of a mechanic change rather for such things rather than a random-queuing delay.
September 3, 200916 yr I was comtemplating asking the first letter of the new skill but decided not to.
September 3, 200916 yr Smelly I see you had your questions answered :P I didn't get to ask a question but I really want to know if there will ever be skill specific content (such as Potions which you need 80 herblore or whatever to use, arrows which you need high fletching to use etc.) that are non-tradable to actually give people a reason to train there skills. Hopefully someone asked a question similar to that anyway. It's been a very interesting Q&A so far.
September 3, 200916 yr @Makoto (Since your a TIF'er), I find that to be a realy interesting question.:-k Yeah, everyone seems to be moving to machines in which a 64-bit OS only makes canonical sense, and I've been sitting on 4GB of RAM for almost a year now. I haven't moved my machines to 64-bit since RS always seemed to break, so I figured I'd ask about it. If he ever opens up the question thread, I'll ask about officially supporting Linux with complete documentation on the main site. I'm doing an alright job with the community, but it's always nice to know if the OS you're running on is officially supported... Linux User/Enthusiast | Full-Stack Software Engineer | Stack Overflow Member | GIMP User...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.
September 3, 200916 yr He said sailing was possible, not that it would happen. MMG is still CEO, and as long as thats the case I doubt hes going to allow andrew to impliment that skill  . And apparently all the people taking everything Jagex says as a promise of new content (example: sailing is possible, our current plans are..., etc) are the people discouraging them from being more open in the first place.

MMG doesnt have a bigger say than Andrew, Andrew has more power.. the reason a skill or item wouldn't be implented is purely if it wouldnt compliment the game or work in ways they wish it to.
September 3, 200916 yr I love people arguing about whose got more power or who is more important between MMG and Andrew. They probably both have alot of people to answer to, I doubt either could walk into JaGex HQ and demand work being started on a new skill. But like the rest of you I actually have no idea what so ever. The reason that I think you get more straight answers from Andrew is that, unlike MMG, hes probably not got to worry about stepping on the developers toes by announcing stuff early. Theres a fine line between not listening and not caring,I like to think I walk this line every day. Pinning blame on Jagex is like trying to put pants on an old man. You both know he needs them, but he'll just keep dancing around, avoiding them at all costs.

The only 64 bit platform which it might not run on is 64 bit XP, but that's not widely used. It was a very good question though. ~ W ~

I've had reports of people not being able to run HD reliably in any 64-bit Linux distro, so I figured I'd check out what was up. I'd expect that Windows/Mac would work alright with relatively few hiccups. Ah well, I didn't get my (other) question in on time. Too bad, this was the Dev Blog I wanted to ask Andrew personally if Linux support would go official soon. :( Linux User/Enthusiast | Full-Stack Software Engineer | Stack Overflow Member | GIMP User...Alright, the Elf City update lured me back to RS over a year ago.
September 3, 200916 yr Arengeir asks: Q: Do you ever plan to make RuneScape take advantage of multi-core CPUs? A: Yes. In fact we already have a prototype which does this which was made a few weeks ago. Need to finish it off though, and it needs lots and lots of testing. Q: With the planned DirectX support, will OpenGL-based platforms (i.e. Linux & Mac) miss out on some of the upcoming features, or will new features like bloom and particle effects be present on both DirectX and OpenGL? A: The features will be present on both DirectX and OpenGL. We plan to keep the 2 in sync as much as possible. Interesting :)

September 3, 200916 yr He has a seperate style of humour  It was a nice read. But one thing I've seen a lot in all the answers is: We're discussing / thinking about it right now! Either they discuss / are in development of a lot or they just reply that a lot. "A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"[Currently playing: K1ll L1f3]
