The correct is 8 and 0.9 (almost accurate). But it's a bit weird... I got worse results on the Stockholm server lol.

mm, aussie internet. On a windless day I could kick a footy to the exchange building, but I have friends using wireless internet that get better speeds.

Never.

Are you on Virgin 50mb/s service or is it just because you are located in/near London?

2257AD.TUMBLR.COM

The 50mbit/s service, I would have to be, can't magically get that result on a 20mbit/s connection just because you're near the test area (which I'm not anyway, 200+ miles away :P).

Yo, pretty nice. I could get 100 here if i wanted, but don't need it. Correct me if i'm wrong, but that's pretty good for being over there? Seen quite a few posts at your country complaining about the speeds and access.

I don't know, I have the fastest connection we can have in my region (New Brunswick, Canada), and I'm satisfied with it.

Why are upload speeds usually so low ?

Compared to other speeds on this thread, mine looks fast. But I always have to refresh pages because they just hang and never load :( My internet really doesn't seem fast at all.

Why are upload speeds usually so low ?

They are simply providing what their users want. Most (probably 99%+) users just want fast downstream and care very little about the upstream. If the ISP can get away without providing them with more upstream bandwidth, it will.

That means we can call them and ask for more upstream?

Sure, they'll tell you where to get off too I guess. For any changes to be made, extremely large percentages of their customer base would have to start asking for it and threatening to leave otherwise.

I guess you're right. Anyway I still went for the one I think is the best, the other one, Bell-Aliant, charges an arm, while Rogers, the one I'm with, has 10 times the speed for a bit less on the monthly payment, but has a limit.

Yeah. It varies a lot depending on the time of day, but that's a good idea of the maximum speed I can hit. I've had few problems with Tiscali/Pipex and poor speed, unlike a lot of people. They've always given me fairly decent service too.
