November 6, 201114 yr Is that the same Seguin who played for the Plymouth Whalers? I'm pretty sure my brother brought him over to play cards once because my brother's best friend's family "hosts" a Whalers player for season tickets every year. He seemed like a nice enough guy, assuming he's the same person. In relevant news, the Wings finally snapped their losing streak and high school hockey season begins this week  . There will always be a hint of bitterness when you ask a Leafs fan about Tyler Seguin.I don't know about "always", probably just as long as Kessel plays for the leafs. For example, I don't know any leafs fans who are still bitter about Scott Neidermayer.. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
November 8, 201114 yr Big surprise in leaf-land. That's right, you guessed it: Tim Connolly is injured again! "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
November 9, 201114 yr Big surprise in leaf-land. That's right, you guessed it: Tim Connolly is injured again! I saw that and I was like... hah hah hah.
November 9, 201114 yr Another bad game...here comes the slide :( "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti

November 12, 201114 yr I'm jealous that my parents went to the Wings/Oilers game with 4th row seats for Veterans Night. Neither team played that well imo, but I guess I'm happy with the result... Also, how about that Lightning/Flyers game?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjXclnt1wAI Anyone have any thoughts on the 1-3-1 defense? Player since 2004. November 12, 201114 yr Yeah that flyers/oilers game was funny. I don't exactly like the trap and its various iterations (such as the 1-3-1); I find it pretty boring. That said, it's a legitimate strategy and I see no need to limit it. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
November 13, 201114 yr Was watching that Calgary and Colorado game. Was 4-0 for such a long time and then Colorado brought it back to a 4-3 final. Reminds me of a certain team last year. <_<
November 15, 201114 yr I'm jealous that my parents went to the Wings/Oilers game with 4th row seats for Veterans Night. Neither team played that well imo, but I guess I'm happy with the result... Also, how about that Lightning/Flyers game?http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjXclnt1wAI Anyone have any thoughts on the 1-3-1 defense? In my opinion, 28 other teams have no problem playing Tampa's 1-3-1 system. Why does Philly do this? What a bunch of [kitties], too afraid to skate the puck through the neutral zone. The 1-3-1 isn't unbeatable.... In any situation, I think the responsibility lies on the team with the puck to move it. The blame should never be put on Tampa in this situation. Philly should've gotten multiple delay of game penalties.

If tampa has no obligation to chase the puck then philly has no obligation to move it. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
November 18, 201114 yr Lol, we've lost 5 of our last six, let the slide begin. Current injuries #1 goalie#2 centre#2 LW#3 center/RW#3 LW#4 RW #4 D Next month should be fun... "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
November 19, 201114 yr Eh there are only three "marlies" in the lineup, could be worse; will probably be something like this (maybe throw in boyce, colborne or kadri) Kessel - Connolly - LupulKulemin - Bozak - FrattinBrown - Steckel - CrabbRosehill - Dupuis - Orr Phaneuf - GunnarssonSchenn - LilesFranson - Gardiner ScrivensGustavsson "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
November 19, 201114 yr Leafs and Oilers are imploding :ohnoes: We just lost 4 of our top 6 Dman in like a week. Sutton, Barker, Potter all done for a month of so I reckon. So now our D looks like this Smid-GilbertPeckham-PetryTeubert-Chorney. I'm staying home to watch the game since I moved my work to monday, and the first game i get to watch is that D up against Chicago... :wall:
November 19, 201114 yr Yikes. That D is awful. Komi is out for two months (broken arm, needs surgery). I'm really glad we had Franson just lying around haha.. EDIT: Oh, brown out, colborne in for the lineup I posted above. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
November 19, 201114 yr The Wild are tearing it up. Offseason moves seems to have really helped the team. Hopefully they can continue the solid play all year. "He could climb to it, if he climbed alone, and once there he could suck on the pap of life, gulp down the incomparable milk of wonder."
November 20, 201114 yr Yeah, I admit I didn't expect the wild to be nearly this good but I'm glad to see them doing well. Leafs are slaughtering the caps atm, but i'm not going to rejoice until the game is actually over... "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
November 20, 201114 yr And we end up winning 7-1. Perfect special teams, and a great night for gus. Nice to have that after a pretty shitty past few weeks. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
November 20, 201114 yr 3-2 win for the Wild. <3: Oilers leading 5-1 after one period. We surpassed our highest goal total in one game in 20 minutes. :shades:
November 20, 201114 yr Pens just announced crosby plays tomorrow! "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
November 21, 201114 yr I love how Kessel is proving all the naysayers wrong, the "he always starts hot and fades" is finally dying out.
