Range_This11
"Forwards are a dime a dozen, but a good defenseman is hard to find." That's the quote my pops always used to say and the reason I ALWAYS played defense. That and it was so much fun to yard sale people when they're trying to break out of the zone with their head down. The_Fray
I have never thought it was a great plan to draft goalies high up in the draft. How many highly touted goalies actually make it to the NHL? And even if many do, how many of them stick around as a starter for the team that drafted them. Call me nuts but I will take a forward/defenceman with my top picks and look for goalies in the lower rounds. Predicting a goalies development is nearly impossible, they are a completely rare breed. You might draft a goalie in the first round and another in the 7th round and the 7th rounder might end up being the better of the two. How many times do you see that with forwards/defenceman? MAF was the last goalie to be drafted really high who actually did anything good, DiPietro might have been good if not for all the injury problems. obfuscator
Ducks making a push for it...probably too little, too late. And the leafs need to pick up their game ASAP if they want to make the playoffs. At least Kessel wasn't picked last again haha.. It would have been funny if they picked him last just as a joke, and imo Datsyuk was very deserving of the first pick. He's a great player. As for tonight I can see Team Chara winning, they have a much more skilled squad, all the its just for fun so you never know. Hamtaro
I figured Team Chara would win, but I had no idea the game would be that close. IMO, the scoreboard doesn't reflect how close the game really was. In other news, the 2013 Winter Classic between the Wings and the Leafs at the Big House is allegedly confirmed to be final (final announcement to come in February). Player since 2004. obfuscator
Yeah. Oh the all star game, so silly. And I am pumped for Wings-Leafs. obfuscator
Wow, that game was brutal. Basically played a perfect road game for 50 minutes, and made some stupid errors that cost us. Of course a really bad call called off a goal for us, but even then...we had a 4-1 lead. Does give me confidence that we can beat the pens tonight though. stevepole
How long do hockey matches last? I've been invited to go to the Kings game next weekend and I might be having some friends coming into town so I'm trying to figure out what time the game will get done. I've been invited to go to the Kings game next weekend and I might be having some friends coming into town so I'm trying to figure out what time the game will get done. 3 hours for the actual game. Generally you want to leave ahead of time to get good parking/buy whatever you want, and leaving may take another half hour depending on where you park and how the arena is set up. If you've been to any other sporting event it's roughly the same. [email protected] - EoS Former Leader - Message if you need anything
fastortoise
Its more like 2 hours if you do it efficiently. I take the public transport to go to games though so its a bit different (in Montreal, we have a metro, bus stations and train station right at the hockey arena). You might even find the sport to your liking. I first fell in love with my Leafs at a game at the Gardens which if I remember correctly was a 4-3 win against the Flyers. I have been to far fewer games since the ACC came into the picture, ticket prices here in Toronto are just downright disgusting.

obfuscator
You're probably looking at least at 2.5 hours for the game. I hope you're not going to the game against Phoenix...LA - PHX would probably be the most boring game the league could offer haha... EDIT: Then again, you are from arizona, right? Could be cool to see your home-town team. Unless they're playing calgary, that might be a little more entertaining.
