Hawks
Was pretty psyched about the front page of the paper today when I found out they'd sweeped. Nice. sig by Soa.....tip.it times.....art & mediadeviantart/flickr/last.fm/steam/twitter/tumblr/youtube
All_Is_Great
I really wanted NYR and TB to win. I hate seeing the same old teams each and every year. But good job by the Wings, Datsyuk is just... And lol @ Vancouver right now.
obfuscator
Yeah, seriously. Epic choke jobs, Canada. I think the Bruins take the mtl series now. I don't see the canucks playing that badly in BOTH of their last two though, so I think they'll still take that. Definitely showing problems down the road though, particularly if they have to face the wings. All_Is_Great
Yah, there definately is a good chance VAN will beat CHI in either of the last 2 games. But your right, it doesn't look like they're clear favourites anymore. The Sedins need to step up and earn their paychecks, as does Luongo. Reg season means zip if you can't win in the playoffs, just ask Joe.
obfuscator
Yup. Particularly if they end up playing DET next round, which I think is who they'll probably play... "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
Hamtaro
I thought it wasn't possible for a 1 seed to play a 2 or 3 seed outside the semi finals. Aren't the teams reseeded in lieu of an upset so the highest seeded team still plays the lowest seeded team? Vancouver can't play San Jose or Detroit until the third round, as far as I know. obfuscator
Oh yes I think you're right. Likelyhood is that Van would play Ana/Nsh then... EDIT: Woo buffalo won! foursideking
Playoffs go like this: 1v8-2v7---3v6-4v5 Let's say 1 and 2 win, they'd face eachother in the next bracket, and so on. Oh, and I think my tampa prediction will win for me (anyone see the blowout?).

No they don't... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2010_Stanley_Cup_playoffs For the west side of the playoffs, since San Jose and Chicago both won, then they would have faced in the second round. They faced in the west final. [email protected] - EoS Former Leader - Message if you need anything
obfuscator
No they reseed them. So the second round works the same as the first, but reseeding the winners. I'm still not convinced Tampa will win, but I think PIT has real problems in the second round even if they do beat Tampa. Looks like my Boston prediction may come through, and already perfectly predicted NYR/WSH (made up for my awful PHX/DET prediction) "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti

obfuscator
Wowwww that sucks for the canucks. Played a great game, dominated the OT, and then that... That was the first game in the series where both teams actually played well. Van played great in the first three, and Chi played badly, vice versa for 4 and 5. Going to be an epic game seven, and with Schneider out they've got to play lou... Also happy Nashville made it, if only to see how long Shea Weber's beard gets after two playoff series'... All_Is_Great
Lol, Weber's got the best beard. And lol @ VAN, man if they lose game 7, they'll hear it for the rest of their lives.
obfuscator
That would have to be one of the worst choke jobs in history.... I felt bad for them last night though, they definitely deserved to win...but that's what they get for not showing up at all to two games... foursideking
Mmhmm, nashville earned that one. Should be interesting to see them in the 2nd round. Vancouver, well, they're in an interesting position. If they lose this series, then we can almost guarantee an eastern team winning the cup. And even if they somehow do make it, then there's no way in hell that they'll make it past detroit.

Buzzcut3
I was watching the game at a bar with a couple of my friends. Everyone started swearing when Toews scored (even though he's a hometown hero), but the atmosphere was insane as soon as Burrows stole the puck, and even better when he scored. Nothing like an environment like that. [email protected] - EoS Former Leader - Message if you need anything
obfuscator
What a great game. I managed to watch most of it, but stopped after the third period (had to be at work early this morning). Glad to see Vancouver move on, curious to see how they fare against Nashville. All_Is_Great
To derail the constant leaf bashing..... Here are my predictions: WSH vs NYR, Wsh in 6PHI vs BUF, PHI in 5BOS vs MTL, BOS in 7PIT vs TB, TB in 6 VAN vs CHI, CHI in 7SJ vs LA, SJ in 5DET vs PHX, PHX in 7ANA vs NSH, ANA in 6 So yah, I fail at predicting :P
obfuscator
Yeah mine were off as well. I'm 3/6 so far (but correctly predicted # of games as well as winner with my correct picks).
