Has anyone noticed how many foods are almost impossible to buy and are at their max on the ge?

you still need food in certain circumstances even if you use a bunyip or enchanted excalibur..

 

But yeah, it's gettin not only harder to buy food but potions too

Yah my offer for 100 Str Pots took me a day to buy at Max. This inflation is kind of killing us all.

There's definitely a weird trend going, but I think it'll even out eventually as usual (Every shortage leads to a surplus, every surplus leads to a shortage etc).

 

Super stat restores are at 20k each, lovely :lol:

Lol, I use normal restore pots + p pots for my business. You can drink 4 brew doses per normal restore pot, but only 3 max with super restore, so it saves enough space to have a p pot there instead of a super restore.

Not really, I only use food when I'm pking...

The resource economy (when not being manipulated) usually revolves in a very slow and often year long cycle.

 

Resources dry up, price rises due to demand.

People see higher prices so decide to gather said resource, price drops.

Unlimited food stock got taken out, and therein lies the problem.

 

It wont go back down as far as i can see, most food will rise and stay there/fluctuate around that level.

Doesn't explain the prices of sharks and stuff you can't get in shops. I'm just going to assume it because of PvP and inflation. Pizzas are going through the roof though. Pineapple pizzas used to be my favorite source of food... That's off my list now.

Ohi I don't need to fish anymore for money because I can just do nothing and 76k and get a lot more money than ever before. :thumbdown:

Well even at the moment im finding it hard to buy bunyips in the GE.

Anyway it's a serious issue. As I don't much play runescape any more, I don't really have any say on it.

I have food stored up in my bank, so I haven't really noticed.

I haven't bought food in all 8 years of playing :P

I'd imagine the shortage on bunyips is because of the expected update? certainly seems like a new dungeon or something equally awesome.

I knew keeping my 3K rocktails was a good idea... I also expect to sell all my monks; sharks and swordies for a nice price next week end.

 

I also can't believe all the people that saw that twitter update and didn't think of going fishing instead of trying to compete on the G.E....

There's a nice cross elasticity of demand with sharks and these pizzas for example. If you can't buy pizzas anymore (due limited supply or price) you have to find alternatives: this increases the fish demand and thus rises the prices.

Naturally thanks to these clowns there's TOO much money and the price of everything is being forced up. probably a good thing I stocked up on everything during those 2 days they all crashed.

Yeah i know a lot of ppl who have stock piled just incase, i myself have to. So that could cause a slow down on GE.

It's a combination of less players skilling and more cash available... it has always been about supply and demand more than inflation.

Its a good time to switch to slightly cheaper, but uncommon food sources.

Curry and the high level kebabs (the camel ones) are my new favorites; 19 hp and can be brought for about 1.3k vs 1.5k for sharks.

I was thinking about selling my guthans, but the more I look at food costs the more I'm temped to just keep guthans and work to 88 summoning (its always been a goal, but its looking cheaper and cheaper for the long term).

 

The trouble is too many people want items now and very few want to work for them or create them.

Carl brought up a good point...people who used to have to fish, or woodcut, or mine for money now can easily just got 76k for it. Although that isn't the issue behind why they are unbuyable, it certainly is a major one.

 

Speculation for the new update, the shop changes, less people playing due to school, and 76king, all play a major role in why they are hard to buy. As Dan said it's a cycle, but it usually isn't like this. Either wait or go fishing is all I can say.

Investing 200M in unicorns, brews, sharks, and bunyips is just so much easier though...
