My only concern is that the site itself is infected. Otherwise, the only way he could pull off something like this would be to hack into Jagex's servers, directly, which is almost impossible, given that they are run in Linux.

I am no techno-nerd but as fas as I know, you can't get a trojan from a .txt or a .jpeg (first and second links respectivly) but I'm not sure. I feel safer viewing the .txt so I looked at it. My main is on there but not my pure (which I only use for price checking items) or my brothers old account.

Yes, definitely, a virus can be in a file with any suffix including .txt especially if it's an e-mail attachment. However it is unlikely that you will be infected without actually opening the file. I would download the file (if it comes from a reputable site) and save it to hdd then scan it with your AV to be more sure of its content.

I didn't think of a keylogger before I clicked on it so I ran a virus scan. I have a new Trojan I didn't have yesterday. I've only been on tipit, runescape, and aeriagames today, so no that site isn't safe.

Not very impressive tbh, copy and paste from highscores or runehead and make a text file, and the idea of being able to go through 750,000 accounts in 24 hours is...yeah.

Also, like someone said, what is classified as 'hacking'? Simply logging into the accounts, or taking their items, etc.? If it includes doing anything to the accounts this is a joke.
