Damn it, seems I got scammed for my purple phat (for trade price) and it's my own stupid fault for trusting people, damn greedy me. If a trade is too good to be true, it really is.

No much more stupid, it was a 2 person scam. One started talking to me how he would sell his red phat to me for a bunch of masks (1.5B worth) cause he was leaving for a month and expected them to rise much more than his phat in the mean time. I happened to have nearly enough, but he needed 5 more. I only had 300m cash and my phat left. I ended up trusting some random (but in the end not so random) guy for the last few masks (my pha and cash for masks, horrible trade) I needed after a LOONG time, cause of course I was very hesistant to do trust trades. But he was very good in it, and showed me a half whine etc telling me he has enough to scam a simple purple out of me (he promised me to sell it back if the red phat guy wouldn't do his trade).

 

The guy with the red had to get members to sell some stuff he had to get cash to make up the trade, and I left to watch some football. Now I'm back, and he's not online, no problem you would say, but then I see a forum thread by him where he is selling a half wine and a yellow phat, and where he says he has some masks too. Now these are exactly the items that the other guy (who I sold my purple to) showed me. Can't be a coincidence.

 

Damn, when I'm reading this myself, I can't believe I fell for it. Greed turned me into an idiot -.-

 

There names are I tennis and Matrix usa, beware. I think they are brothers.

That's a pro scam and since it's street price it's not like they can be reported. :-k

 

Yea, its a pro scam. lol. But really, never trust someone that you just met. Like imagine you were the person who scammed you. You don't know them at all. You probably will never see them in rs again, and will never ever see them in real life. Would you rather get a purple for trade price, or just help some random dude out. I'd go with the purple.

How are onyx looking in terms of holding their value? I have 3 uncut gems and 3 rings, and I am still aways from affording a divine, I want to see if they appear to be holding their own still.

so if they're brothers, I'm assuming that the red phat guy had much less than the other who showed you half wine + yellow correct? I think

the reason why he would bother to scam you is because the red phat person was probably hungry for street prices and got his

brother involved in it. I'm starting to <3 the rare market community. honestly....

 

and if I recall, I think one of them was a victim to a phat lure...looks like karma got it back for him, but only made it worse.

umm, if Jagex had the knowledge of current street prices, they might take action, but since you were trading your partyhat + something for something, it will look

legitimate enough to not have any offences marked. No harm in trying though.

Back on topic, I'm seeing fewer and fewer higher partyhat sales, even from last week. People must be holding on for summer, as they know lots of people will be generating gp over the summer and looking to buy near the end.

I thought I heard something about Jagex increasing the cost of onyx gems further (3m or so tokkul now), and tokkul to be a more scarce drop now? However, I haven't been online to confirm this. If so, then maybe you'll be very well off with those gems. :thumbup:

I'm confident that Jagex is done screwing around with the tokkul marker for the time being.

 

It wasn't that long ago that they introduced another way for Onyxs to enter the game with Kingly imps so if anything, I believe that they'll continue to make it easier to get them.

umm, if Jagex had the knowledge of current street prices, they might take action, but since you were trading your partyhat + something for something, it will look

legitimate enough to not have any offences marked. No harm in trying though.

 

First, write them a letter with a hundred dollar bill inside. Then go to the actual jagex head quarters. Show them your evidence etc. They can check the trade logs, chat logs, everything. Bring more hundred dollar bills tho.

 

After enough hundred dollar bills, BOOM purple partyhat.

What are Arcanes likely to do over the summer? If I have a lot of free time I will probably work towards one, but I won't bother if they are likely to become worth about 300m street again.

Hey guys. I haven't played Runescape in a while and I dont much anymore so I dont really know what the prices are like. I want to buy a spectral spirit shield cause they kinda look cool, and when I come on thats all I tend to do. Slay and try to look good, haha.

So I have two questions:

1. Can spectrals be bought in the GE?

2. If I start playing again in a few months will I have lost a lot of money with it? Are they stable?

Heres what I think:

Partyhats: They are discontinued items. No more of them can ever come into the game therefore the price will definitely rise. Particular updates often bring them down but they will always go back up as less and less of them become available ingame. If you ever plan to quit Runescape or take a break for a year or so, buy a discontinued item (pumpkin, easter egg, half full jug of wine, partyhat, mask and anymore that I can't think of atm). When you log back in, the price will be higher. I can almost guarantee that.

 

3rd Age: Honestly, I don't think these will stay high for much longer. As time passes, more powerful weapons will be released, stronger armour, easier ways to train stats etc. From what I can see, all of these factors contribute to the price of 3rd Age. The more powerful weapons come out and combat skills become easier to train- level 3 clue scrolls will be obtained more often, they will be easier to complete and the amount of these items in the game will increase faster than they deplete from players quitting.

 

Spirit shields: Kind of the same as 3rd Age, I expect more and more players to fight the Corporeal Beast as newer items come out and combat skills become easier to train. I don't think that they will drop as much as 3rd Age, simply because of how overpowered they are. No matter how many of these come into the game, there will always be demand for them because of their stats and effects. The only thing that could possibly cause these to drop would be if even better shields were released, although I doubt that will happen for years.

 

Everything that I said above is probaly bull****, it's just my opinion and I generally have no idea what I'm talking about so don't listen to me. =)

Either Crowns rose in street, or enough Onyx came from Kinglys to drop the street. Another possibility is that most people who want an Onyx I already have it by now. Good thing I traded 4 Onyx Rings for a Disk then.
