Slayin' Styles

Featured Replies

Are you the type that potions up, uses prayer, and power slay through everything?

Or do you chill back with a book, check up on RS now and then to make sure you aren't dead, and just sit in a room full of aggro monsters?

I'm the latter. Run into a mob of hell hounds, open up a book, sit back and read. Every few minutes I'd check the screen to see if I need to soul split a bit to get my health back up, then it's back to reading for me.

I kind off do the same thing but instead of reading a book, i use splitscreen to watch my character hack away at monsters on the one side and look at forums/yt-videos/facebook/... on the other side of my screen, no superintensive power-through-your-assignement for me

it depends on the task for me. If the monster can be found in a multicombat zone, I use combat familiars and super sets and stuff. If its single combat, its normally just sit back and relax. I get on here to check forums, or just read one of the guides or something. Maybe check youtube while im at it.

I powerslay everything as fast as I can. That being said, I do usually multitask on forums or something else while doing it when possible (but for a lot of tasks it isn't possible).

Like most people, it all depends for me. I break up tasks into different "categories" in my mind, so my approach really varies with the task, though there is the occasional bit of overlap.

Money tasks -- I don't really power through these, I go for the amounts of money that you can make on them, which slows down xp but there's a ton of money to be made there

Examples: All dragons, aberrant spectres

Powertraining tasks -- I go all out on the offensive -- prayer, cannon, combat familiar if I can

Examples: Dagannoths, Suqahs, black demons

I don't strictly follow that all the time, but I tend to follow it pretty closely. I piety just about everything, so I'm further towards the powertraining end of the spectrum.

Extremes, sometimes overloads.

Cannon.

Steel Titan.

Turmoil.

I guess that's powerslaying - I just like going fast. :^_^:

Doesn't require constant attention, since I mostly skip the tasks that require it (fire giants, dust devils, bloodvelds, etc.) now that I'm 99 slayer.

I'm a crazy powerslayer. It's probably the only skill that I put 100% focus into.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

Used to do both, depending on the mood i was in

I just get a inv full of monkfish and start slaying. I don't know much about the prayers and summoning so I stick with the basics.

Depending on the monsters, I am either sitting back and just checking up on my character for health and whether I'm attacking something but sometimesI have to pay full attention to ones like Abberant Spectres so that I don't waste prayer.

I guess I'd say that when I slay I like to go at a decent speed, so I'll pay attention, but not fully. I still multi-task and text, and stuff like that. But while slaying on my pure (this account) I only use range, so I basically find the sagespot that corresponds with the monster, and fire away. Checking back every minute or so to attack another and pick up drops. So would that put me almost dead center?

just sit back and watch tv, no rush.

Err I guess I'm a lazy slayer. I use super sets, and that's about it. Sometimes cannon during Dagannoth or Kalphite. The only task I use prayer on is Elves. I can also write with my left hand whilst slaying, so that works out too.

Depends on the monster. Some are appropriate for turmoil powerslaying, some are not. Blue dragons are not. My pack yak can only recover its special bar so fast, so if I turmoil through that task it will mean more banking, whereas just using bandos/firecape I get about 40 bones + hides per trip. Love those tasks, usually make 1.2m or so from them. :) Also anything I need to use protection prayers on I usually don't turmoil.

It depends on both my assignment and my mood. I always pot during tasks, but sometimes I piety and use spec restores and dragon claws, and other times I just read forums/a book or talk while the monsters are aggressive and check back every now and then.

[hide]sevestia.png[/hide]

I do a few tasks, maybe three per day... really slowly. Then I'd get distracted (when I'm at a bank, changing equip. for the next task). And I'm usually watching something on the side or lurking in the forums.

As long as there isn't an imminent threat of myself dying, I will barely even look at the game except to pick up drops.

189th to achieve "100" firemaking

I'm not real big powerslayer, unless maging a fair amount of my tasks counts (typically surge spells). As far as prayer goes, I only use it when necessary (waterfiends, aquanites, mutated bloodvelds, and dagganoths in Waterbirth dungeon to name a few), and even then only protection prayers.

J_Schmoe.pngJ_Schmoe.png

Definitely not a power slayer. Don't touch potions at all (honestly, I just don't LIKE using potions, save em for bosses), I can't think of any task I pray at except for waterfiends....I'll still use cannons on dags but that's about it.

Squab unleashes Megiddo! Completed all quests and hard diaries. 75+ Skiller. (At one point.) 2000+ total. 99 Magic.

my difinition of noob is i dont like u, either u are better then me or u are worst them me

Buying spins make you a bad person...don't do it. It's like buying nukes for North Korea.

Well if it bothers you that the game is more fun now, then you can go cry in a corner. :shame:

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

Poignant Purple to Lokie's Ravishing Red and Alg's Brilliant Blue.

More recently, I've been becoming more of a power slayer. Since I've learned how ridiculously efficient flicking piety is compared to using no prayer, or keeping it on for the whole time, I'm becoming more obsessed with efficiency in general. I wear proselyte on tasks I know my bunyip can handle for me to minimise prayer consumption, I always use a rune defender unless the task requires a special shield, I use potions more often, not just when they're down to 5 levels above norm, and I don't get distracted with worthless drops. I've really, really noticed an increase in speed with my slayer tasks, and I'm loving it.

Potions and sit there while aggro'd monsters attack me and I kill them off, checking back every once and awhile

5 levels above max is rather unefficient. (I guess it depends on your levels but w/e).

I pot every task, piety gargs, hells, and greaters always. I stopped cannoning after 85 slayer, and unless im pietying I dont pay much attention. Oh and I solo mage/brid prime and rex all dag tasks.

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

Absolutely a powerslayer. Paying more attention and being rewarded for it is the game style that suits me best. So I move in between attacks, uses potions and prayers, and try to be as swift as possible in between tasks. But I take breaks though, farming, clue scrolls, chatting, facebook, youtube, reading up on news and debate them. I really just don't like multitasking, so I'd rather pay 100% attention to slaying for a while, with breaks from time to another to do other stuff instead of trying to do all of it on the same time, and just end up doing all those things slower.

Scherzo.png

I always pay attention, use super strs, but i don't pray unless its to heal/protect. Don't use turmoil of course.
