June 22, 201016 yr Slayer and Dungeoneering for me are fun. Runecrafting is a skill I doubt I'll seriously train ever again. Woodcutting was fun back when I was still innocent and carefree. Cooking/Fletching was too fast to be boring. Combat = slayer = fun. Prayer and Summoning was also fun just seeing the xp rates. Herblore I like my overloads so yeah it's pretty fun also. Woodcutting was definitely the funnest being my first 99, back before RS was a race to 99, and back when people at Lletya magic trees were generally very friendly so I met quite a few interesting people there.
June 22, 201016 yr I've enjoyed training the AFK skills like woodcutting ivy since I can have fun in other places while getting all that experience. Seems quite paradoxal to me. How can you enjoy something you are not really doing? You mean you enjoy browsing forums or watching vids? A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h!
June 22, 201016 yr I've enjoyed getting 99 range, that's why it took me 5 years, I didn't grind it. I dont get 99s to brag about, ranging's been my favourite skill ever since tutorial and I'm 126 combat with 2k+ total and untrimmed range, I also love questing, so I got the quest cape. The game (gg) should be played for fun, not for bragging or anything else because your 15 minutes of fame will be over faster than you think ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabingbang m8
June 22, 201016 yr Some I did. I enjoy multitasking, browsing forums, and playing RS. [hide=Drops]Araxxor Eye x1 Leg pieces x2GWD: 5000 Addy bar Steam B Staff x3 Z Spear x6 Sara. June 22, 201016 yr I keep hearing from people I know that are high level about how they hate trying to get 99s but they push themselves to do it for the bragging rights. Now I never do anything that I don't like to do so I can't sit here and get a 99 before I start dreading it. My question to all of you is mostly why do you get 99s? Have any of you got a 99 and enjoyed the skill all the way there? I can honestly say that I thouroughly enjoyed every minute of getting 99 Fletching. It's my overall favorite skill, and I will enjoy every minute that I gain experience in it, during the next year or two.
June 22, 201016 yr I'm currently working my way towards 99 Fishing. Hopefully, I'll get there eventually.I used to play Runescape, just to meet certain goals. Yes, there were days I played 14 hours a day. Luckely, those days are over. Did I enjoy playing Runescape then? I sure did. But I like it a lot more now. Now, I just play whenever I want and I train whatever I want. Sure, there are goals, but I'm not fixed on getting them within an extremely low timeframe. It doesn't matter what I train really, because, whatever you do, it's just clicking those same two keys over and over again. I wonder how many people actually realize that: Whatever you do in Runescape, you're just clicking two keys. So, I only do what I like, and right now, it's Fishing. This is while watching movies or series. My sister has 99 Firemaking. She enjoyed it a lot. Still does. But I must say, she really burned a lot the last few days before she got 99. I guess it's worth it, to feel the satisfaction of getting a 99?Which would mean the minutes before getting the 99 aren't the most enjoyable, but the minutes after the 99 are. June 22, 201016 yr i enjoyed the process of 99ing a skill and training it playing sc for fletch craft construction and smithing the only skills i didnt like were mining and fletching...i just did them to max total i enjoy the friends i make skilling too and talking to them and iliked training dungeoneering but now its just blah....so i guess im doing it just to get lvl 99 =p i really enjoyed slayer it wasnt like i was getting a 99 at all i was just out to kill stuff :) i dont have much expirience in skills after lvl 99 but i plan on only doing skills i like dungeoneering to 120 after batch 2 thieving firemaking cooking str and rc :P
June 22, 201016 yr Even though I am nowhere near 99 I can say that I have loved training smithing so far. Becuase I'm doing gold It gives me a chance to talk to friends, read forums, or watch videos. I've done over 45k bars in a row so far and I'm not even feeling bored in the least yet. Fletching on the other hand was totaly the opposite, I only got it because i felt like a noob for being lvl 98 without a 99 skill and it was very boring for me. 99 fletching achieved 09/04/08 99 defence achieved 08/31/09 99 smithing achieved 07/25/1099 attack achieved 03/11/10 99 constitution achieved 05/14/1199 strength achieved 06/01/11 99 cooking achieved 01/17/1299 woodcutting achieved 05/10/12 99 firemaking achieved 05/10/12
June 22, 201016 yr i enjoyed slayer 100%, im getting 99/120 dung and i so far have loved 99% of it, except one time i solod a stomp and i counted and it healed 24x on me, i had to do aobut 21k hp of dmg i died 4 times and it took 33 mins and by the 24th time it healed i just yelled [bleep] SALT!
June 22, 201016 yr i enjoyed grinding 92-99. but would i do it again? probably not. i wasted a whole summer. not about to do that ever again ~ 3,072nd to 99 Mining on August 30th, 2009 ~~ 112,084th to 99 Magic on April 16th, 2011 ~~ 131,681st to 99 Crafting on March 29, 2019 ~~ 178,385th to 99 Prayer on April 2, 2019 ~~ 234,921st to 99 Defence on May 9, 2019 ~~ 173,480th to 99 Herblore on June 21, 2019 ~~ 155,160th to 99 Smithing on July 16, 2019 ~
June 22, 201016 yr I've enjoyed training the AFK skills like woodcutting ivy since I can have fun in other places while getting all that experience. Seems quite paradoxal to me. How can you enjoy something you are not really doing? You mean you enjoy browsing forums or watching vids? I enjoy getting ranks on the game, but I like it even more when I can mingle that with reading/watching other materials while doing it.I do like doing "bank" skills while at the same time enjoying something else. If I was doing them without looking at anything else, I would probably get bored. It won't make much sense if you don't play for ranks like I do, but I can honestly say I find the RuneScape part more fun if my whole attention is not devoted to it. Part of the enjoyment comes from the outside materials, but I actually do find the clicking itself more fun than if I had been doing it with my entire mind (the exception is the bank skills that require a lot of clicking, like training herblore by making overloads). It's the reason why I don't find runecrafting and agility boring when taken in reasonable amounts. I can play another kind of game with those skills by trying to decrease my lap times by clicking at more efficient times. It's just a way to increase my rank while having a bit of fun at the same time. At the same time, I'm training fishing at Shilo Village instead of at Barbarian Fishing because there is no way I can make Barb Fishing easily AFKable without mousekeys. So fun still is an important aspect. Another example of this is training in PvP - it's not quite as fast experience as traditional methods, you need to pay slightly more attention, and it's dangerous -- but there's another goal in mind besides simply getting 13034431 experience. 2496 Completionist
June 23, 201016 yr I just like getting 99's because that way I know if any update comes out for that skill, I know I can do it. I do have a favourite 99 though and it would have to be Slayer, as it has not only afforded 99 prayer and many other things, but I love the colours of the cape and it shows that a lot of effort has been put into the skill. Some skills I didn't like getting to 99 at all, like fletching and cooking. As there weren't many benefits for me, as I don't cook fish much (I usually buy it) and I never make bows, but they are still 99's and they took a long time. Fletching more so than cooking. And I never want to make another bow ever again lol :)
June 23, 201016 yr i have one 99 wcing and i liked it because i could do other stuff wile i woodcut. i hate lvling skills that require lots of money, like summoning or prayer. I enjoy skills that you do stuff in, not sit at a bank puting stuff in and out.
June 23, 201016 yr Because I enjoy my Defence alot. <3 I did however no life for two days to get from 98-99, it took me four years to get 99 and I just wanted to get it over with and get to the final mark (oh the pain). Now im doing 99 attack via slayer because I like slayer, and yields profit to a 99. Popoto.~<3
June 23, 201016 yr My only 99s are fishing and fletching. I didn't enjoy the skills themselves, but I multitask-ed for almost all of it. I probably won't get it to 99 because I don't play as much as I used to, but there was not a minute of slayer that I didn't enjoy. It's a fun skill. Most of my melee xp came from it.
June 23, 201016 yr I got pretty much all the 99s that were fun (except fletching, I had to take tons of breaks but it was fast xp so what the heck). Then I stopped playing because there are a lot of skills I hate.
June 23, 201016 yr Nah. Defence was good fun Slaying. Woodcutting was good, got to meet some people, and get something while school had me down. #KERR2016/17/18/19/20/21. #rpgformod
