demby123
Monks at the monastery now give an automatic 4-5 prayer experience when killed. As far as I know the update wasn't announced. I never saw this posted anywhere but lock this if it was posted already or move it if it's in the wrong place.
Range_This11
I haven't seen it posted, but that's a pretty nasty joke on Jagex's part if it wass truly unannounced. Obtaurian
Interesting update for new players, that's for sure. Prayer will be a little bit easier for the first few days of an accounts life. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

GottaGetDownOnfriday
They should've made the monks drop monk robes to lower the prices on an item with an outrageous price. But thats another topic. Thank you for the heads up. I just have to kill 3,000,000 monks for 99 prayer :) at 100 monks an hour, that's 3k hours for 99 prayer. at 3 hours a day that's 1000 days which is about three years which would also give me 99 str and like 90 hp. That's the greatest update OF ALL TIME. 65,280 to 99 fletching on 3-14-0940,405 to 99 woodcutting on 10-17-2009

If you can one hit them and don't want to spend much money buying bones -- just kill them for the 3-4 XP then bury their bones for another 4.5. ;)

I'll go later to check though If they don't drop bones, that's completely stupid. How does every other humanoid NPC drop bones, but not an NPC that is actually a human. That's ridiculous, so I hope they still do. EDIT: Monks DO NOT drop bones.EDIT 2: They give the SAME AMOUNT of Prayer XP as burying normal bones would. (4.5 XP each.) Sir_Kurity
Actually, it does seem like a glitch. Not only is it completely nonsensical as ive already mentioned, but why would they suddenly make monks drop no bones and give you prayer xp upon killing. And why do humans not drop bones, why! Unless holy bones somehow bury themselves... O.O
