Guide for cheap firemaking xp

Nice guide, I've done this in varrock, seems like lumby is better.

You guys all know who's stocking the store with willows right? Its the bots training to 60wc on the willows by the river, behind the house there. I've seen them walk to and from the store. Go check them out and report a few while you're there. I guess they like getting a bit of gp instead of dropping. I don't think most regular players sell to the store, I always sold or burned. Imagine regular (legit) players selling 30k willows to the general store, no-one does this. In fact, I've never seen a legit player cutting willows in lumby, I think 99% of people cut in draynor, and bank the logs.

Technically if u cut the logs urself ur not making a lose though.

Just because a resource CAN be sold X amount doesn't mean ur losing that muhc if you gather it then don't sell it

eg:

account has 1mil cash

cuts 2k willow logs

burns 2k willow logs

account profit/lose = 0

since no money was paid for the logs no money is lsot by burning them and out of all the skills fm isn;t generally bought for anyway as 90% of people only buy resources for skills where they make profit (eg buy essy 40ea rc nats or laws and sell for like 400ea)

You are loosing potenial profit, your bank account could be higher if you sold. So yes, you are loosing money if you cut and burn.

I used to cut there, (Oaks, no willows) and sold them to the shop.

I also used to cut in rimmington and sell to the store.

However, later on, i found out I'd better burn the logs and get some firemaking xp, since its only a tiny bit slower.

hehe i just bought 20k willows from players it is much faster.... time for me to get 80 firemaking  :D

Tell me how exactly that is faster? You loose time buying the logs...

And the distance between the shop and the start of the "burn line" isnt much further (if not closer) than it would be if you were using a bank.

frankly, i train on the oaks macros drop near the castle. Free labor!

I ususally chop yews and sell in bulk for 270 ea. I rarely go to draynor willows, as im told to go to the yews anyway. And my firemaking is already insanely high from this method I found out.

(Another way is to fill on willows, go to the guard post between a fence and an oak, and firemake that way)

I find it a great way to get willows for fletching exp, to buy from Varrock general on a f2p world and take to the bank, sure it takes longer than buying buts its alot cheaper. May not work as well now I dunno.

wow that is an excellent guide there. i enjoyed it immensley.

too bad i got to 60 firemaking by bruning the willows i cut in rimmington. i just cut them then burned them then cut, etc.

to be sure if/when firemaking is my lowest level, i will surely do this. thank you for the guide.

also for some money, you can buy some of the logs and bank them (maybe varrock or falador are better for this) once you have a few thousand for 12 each, you can sell to players for like 30 each =)

and of course if you are members you can make fletching cheap

waht do you man by that now?

What a cool idea!

But, I wanna do this with yew logs instead. Do f2p'ers sell yew logs to the store, and if so, whats the best store for this? Is this even plausable?

Lol, smart people these days :)

I personally cut my own willows... and i've been doing that for the last week... got quite a few levels. The best places are next to draynor bank and the ones near the b-axe seller and monks on the dock south of fally... Bring a wc axe, tinderbox and cut and burn away!

Off-topic: The bump rule has been revised today so that topics may indeed be bumped for creative additions.

On-Topic: I used this method months ago to train fletching very quickly by buying x amount of willows.

If the guy would have cut 2k willows and sold them at 35 each he would have gotten 70K. When he uses my method then, and burns 2 logs at 12 gp each, he will have still 46k left.

However, if he would have burned his logs right after cutting (port sarim is good for this) then that would have taken less time. But i heard more than one time that people cut them in draynor, bank them, and burn them later. And in that case, my method is working fine.

Its also focused to be cheap, cause yew burning is a hell lot faster, but much more expensive.

I'm not denying that ur method makes money, I am just saying your not making any lose if u cut ur own logs. It has no effect on ur bank balance only ur xp

With one way you are making no loss/profit, however with the other, you would be gaining profit.

First of all, you have to know this: Members aren't stupid enough to sell their willow logs to a shop.

that isn't always stupid, some peaple just only want wc experience or don't want to waste time on burning them

Lol you were so right, I just wen't down to lumby to do some burning, getting my long awaited 75 \' And I wasn't there for more than 10 seconds when a lvl 10 comes upto me and asks me where I got my hat...I then regreted taking my full random outfit...

EDIT - Signature far exceeds our sig limits but since it's so colourful you can keep it.

as oaks give 60 xp, willows 90 exp its 30 xp difference, though you can buy the oaks at 6 each from varrock general store(usually a few thousands, propably macroers) and this means its 0.10 gp per xp which is even cheaper!

now this is slower but cheaper

But the willow method is already slow , an even slower method will take you hundreds of thousand of trips to get 99, :( i think sticking with willows atm even though oaks are cheaper xp.
