It's interesting to see how other people respond to being asked about "having a life" - the vast majority of people immediately equate that with the amount of time they spend with other people.

I wouldn't say that it is, though. Someone who has things to do seems to have more of a life to me than someone who justs hangs around with friends all the time.

Yes because usually you would interact with other people instead of really hanging out with them. I'm thinking like hobbies and jobs here, because you would need to be already at a social interaction level before you get into such things.

Personally I have a great social life. I've got plenty of really great friends from school and others out of it. I'll go out most weekends on my mountain bike with friends or some sort of sport and normally hit a party on a friday or saturday night. Since I live in the countryside sometimes it can be pretty difficult to get lifts to places so occasionally i will be stuck in my house, normally in the holidays when parents are working and alot of people are away on trips anyway but i know that's pretty common for alot of people anyway :^_^: I've just started learning to drive so when i've got my license it should be alot easier to move around to see people. Sometimes it's really nice to have quiet nights or days where you can just chill while playing games or browsing the net and listening to music :grin: Most likely going to University this time next year so i'll be experiencing student life in the city to the max :thumbup:

I maybe go out with friends once or twice a month, but oddly, I consider myself to 'have a life'. It's just that my life consists of more solitary subjects.

 

For instance, I like to draw, to read and play video games. As well as chat online. Also, my true passion in life is writing, both poetry and storries.

 

I may not be the most sociable person, but what I enjoy most in life really doesn't require me to be. Unfortunately, a vast majority of people are also still discriminatory towards goths, so I pretty much avoid the public eye unless I am going out with friends.

 

TLDR: I have next to no social life, yet I have a life.

My weekend primarily consists of a go out Saturday, party friday or Saturday night, then rest and chillax on Sunday. Seriously. I don't want my kids to stay home all day, GTFO mah house.

I usually spend time after classes at uni hanging out with a group until late/most people have left. I don't want to deal with my brother, and even then, no one is home and I'd get sick and bored. One parent doesn't exist anymore, the other is always out on business trips.

I definitely spend too much time on videogames, and don't go outside enough.

That was me Sophomore year of high school, then Junior year came around and for some reason everything changed, I don't think it was conscious but maybe just some change of attitude, I don't know. But Junior year I would go out on Fridays after school, be out all of Saturday and often times a good bit of Sunday. That's how I am now in my Senior year of high school and I love it, I love hanging out with my friends and my girlfriend. Sure, I decline some invites to just have some down time but I won't stay in the whole night. Can't really help cause I don't know how it happened but I'd say just put yourself out there and go out if you're invited out. Even if you're in a bad mood, staying at home has never helped that for me, being with friends has.

my freshman year of high school was the most socially awkward, difficult, and boring year of my life. i got called to hangout less than a handful of times the entire year by my "friends" from school. sometimes on facebook i'd see pictures the next morning from parties that kids would have and I'd think "yeah i could have gone to that.. i could have been there". sometimes even i'd hear about a party in school and i'd try to bring it up in conversation to people to see if i could get "invited". at some of my worst times i randomly got kids' numbers (kids i had talked to) and just texted them asking what they were doing, again hoping for an invite to some teenage get-together. my social life has improved a lot since then but it sucks to be the kid who is considered a no life or a loner. i really had to change a lot about myself on the surface in order to fit in, but i'm still the same person.

Usually when im asked by friends to hang out i think "ffs now i cant scape as much" but i always hang out with them as its better than scaping, but i dont think im going to hang out with her as ive realised she is a really rude and mean person now that im not attracted to her. No you're not being a loner for not hanging out with her. You don't have to go with people you don't like.

I for one spend time with my girlfriend on both video games and outings and hands down it is better to see her face to face.

Well, this girl sounds like a [bleep], so why would you want to hang out with her anyway? Better to hang out alone than with people you don't like.

I don't have much of one. I'm generally really busy in the school year with school work. I'm an art and photography student so honestly, that takes up most of my weekends and such. I do hang out with my close friends when I can, and next year I hope to go out with people more and enjoy my non-school related life.
