Free trade and the Wilderness are almost here and Im sure youre all sharpening your swords, crafting your runes and starving your familiar to make it extra specially vicious. With bands of adventurers preparing to reclaim the Wilderness, its time to force the previous tenants out to make way for a new breed of danger.

 

The revenants have long been a thorn in the side of Wilderness warriors, with their incorporeal gloating and sneaky use of all three combat mechanics. Well no longer! This weekend we will be organising raids into the heart of the Wilderness, to seek out and destroy this spectral menace once and for all!

 

Were calling on you to help us in this task in what will be your last chance to kick nine shades of ectoplasm out of the revenants. No doubt, after such an onslaught, theyll be seeking new pastures somewhere in Gielinor...

Cute way to "kill" them off, guess it adds to the runescape "lore" or whatever they have going for them.

So many gimmicks associated with the Free Trade/PKing update. :rolleyes: Jamflax are really milking this for every penny/quid.

Time to go train some agility before we get real revs.

I actually agree with blind_auror, it's a nice to way get the whole games community involved in the lore of the game. "and the armies of men came to reclaim the wilderness from the dead to use as their battleground once more".

Already confirmed revs being moved to a dungeon and will drop all the pvp armours, brawlers and statuettes while losing their freexing n teleblocking powers.

Sounds fun...only if Jagex summons revs to a event location. Not if we have to go around patroling. And will there be rewards i wonder?

Pretty much agree with that. Revenants can be a pain to hunt for (except when I'm doing TTs or Penguins when they seem to be everywhere) so unless Jagex create spawns of them, which is unlikely, I can see this event being a lot of just walking around the Wilderness looking for them.

Still, it's a good way to get players involved in the lore of RS and maybe we'll see more significant player involvement in the future.

Because the entire brining free trade/widly back has been a publicity gimmick fest.

 

Giving a massive public vote that has no option and no properly account verification and had its own mini-website? massive gimmick as it gave no real numbers and brought massive attention to it. Got all the fansites, where retired pkers lurk talking and got gaming sites wanting interviews. Mass publicity to draw in players.

 

Then keeping it constantly on the front page with count downs and dev blogs and FAQs and guides and QAs and now events its all about working up the hype and draggin back in old pkers who quit.

When I saw the title I thought they actually made the update to move them already, guess not.

Could be fun, I might join them in their raid.

So just because Jagex makes a event where they take us to hunt Revs, it's "Well done, Jagex"? That's not fun a event to me. I can and HAVE done that by my own. And i have owned 12 Revs at ONE Star at highest wildy, and waited for more to arrive...

 

The least admistrators of Runescape can do is make a unique event, not something we could do by ourself. For example spawning LOADS revs in 4 spots in Wilderness. Like how "Hati" wolf has 3 spawns.

 

And make the spawns come in "waves" like Fight cave. Building up the number of revs as u go higher.

They could but odds are they are working on all the proper game updates and as shown in the past (zombiefest thing) and the cryptic cluefests content mods host (zombiefest) or are part of and post parts of (cluefest) the events.

This event currently only has links to community mods.
