4th Binds

Rumor has it that a Mahjarrat quest is going to add a new bind slot for dungeoneering. I don't want to talk about whether or not this rumor is true, because no one without jagex or HLF connections can say anything conclusive. However, I do want to talk about what this potential new bind slot means for dungeoneering.

 

What new things would you like to bind? Here's my list, in what I consider to be a rough order of usefulness:

 

Offense gear

Hexhunter bow

Blood necklace

Celestial Catalytic Staff

Primal Gaunts/Boots

Primal Rapier (for low defense monsters and dogs)

Sagittarian Bow (for sniping, quick range hybriding, and dogs)

 

Defense gearid

Primal Legs

Sagittarian body (switch this with Primal Plate)

 

Optimal bind combos

Keying-only: Baxe/Platebody/Platelegs/Hood/Laws (range body isn't that useful for a keyer)

Keying-sometimes: 2h/Platebody/Platelegs/Hood/Laws

DPS(Melee/Range): 2h/Hex/Sag Body/Hood/Sag Arrows (sometimes it's better to have high magic defense and range pray than vice versa)

DPS(Melee/Mage): 2h/Cat Staff/Platebody/Hood/CSB

DPS(Melee): 2h/Blood/Platebody/Hood/Laws

I'm pretty sure a 2h has better DPS then the saggitarian bow...against everything...except necrolord obviously.

Don't think that's true for dogs

And what I mean is sniping level 3 bats (like for level mod and stuff), where itll be faster solely on the basis of not having to run to attack them

Also I mean ranging the first hit and going into melee. This takes no time if you do it well.

Well at 120 dung you will be able to have 5 binds...

Maybe against Hellhounds, but I have a very high accuracy on dogs with a B axe on slash...like...70-80% accuracy.

For such a niche use, I'm pretty sure something like a rapier will save you much more time.

I have a hexhunter, so I'll be getting a sagi body for sure. I've been considering a blood necklace in place because it benefits both melee and range and defense doesn't matter much to me (even when I key, there tends to be armor at the start because everyone else has a plate)

 

Hex benefits so much from a range body it's ridiculous, so I wouldn't consider anything but the two. Had I not gotten a hex, I would have bound a celestial catalyctic (ofc I'd get 99 mage)

Rapier is still a melee weapon, so you don't get the advantage of quickly sniping small monsters + the range/melee hybrid i was talking about

Because I'll likely be 95 dungeoneering by the time the quest comes out, I'll probably end up having hood + prom 2h + primal plate until 100 dg. At 100 I'd love to have a pure DPS tribrid setup (because I'm now in a perm team, I have a little room to get creative):

 

- Hood

- Prom 2h

- Hexhunter

- Celestial staff

- Sagittarian arrows (p++)

 

At 120 I'd upgrade the 2h to primal and add a blood necklace, I think.

i mean, sag arrows with sag bow is like TINY TINY niche (good for like c1s and stuff, and level mod/low lvl monster clearing)

I'd take hood - neck - 2h - plate (if I had 100 dg that is). I key sometimes but I'm happy to go for melee dps with a surgebox as backup.

Considering I'm only, eh, 77 DG I think, I'd only get a 3rd bind - empowered fire staff until I get a celestial catalyctic staff.

Probably rapier/hood/neck/plate/CSB as it's good overall without much fuss. Switch to 2h at 113.

Hmm I'm pretty close to 100 dungeoneering, and by the time that quest is out I'll most likely have it, so I'm going to write this as if I have 3 binds now.

 

I have a hood and primal baxe, at 100 dungeoneering I'll probably bind a Prom Plate first until I can find a Primal One.

 

Seeing as I don't have 98 ranged, a hexhunter will do me no good.

 

Looks like it's blood necklace, if I can get my hands on one. Until that point, probably promethium gauntlets or even platelegs, although I think a plate is enough defense as is.

Pure melee dps - p2h/p spear/hood/blood neck (a few 120'ers have 2h and spear now)

With berserker, rapier is always better for stabbing and slashing than spear. Having a spear in addition to any melee weapon sounds really stupid as the whole point of it is to be a good overall weapon without berserker. Pure melee dps would actually be rapier/hood/neck/(brace/boots/gloves).
