February 3, 201115 yr Is it just me, or is it harder to get items on the G.E now as some of you might know, ive started my 1 Def Pure, but today i just went to buy some Iron Platebodies, legs, helms etc.... And i was only able to buy the body, i even put the legs and helm at 10% more than the normal price, im still yet to get them in I always loved the G.E, because it was an amazing way to get some hard to get items, Now where do we resort? Discuss

I thought the G.E way of valuing items was actually good, and i liked it, considering i dont have to know the price of every single RS item. Ill try increasing my prices Slowly :)
February 3, 201115 yr It's not the end of the GE, it's just lots of people in RS are trying to merch everything they can get their hands on at the moment for easy gp and prices are all over the place. After a couple of weeks it will all settle down and be fine. Runescape wasn't going to adjust to this change overnight :P "Unfortunately, the real world isn't the same as a fairy tale."
February 3, 201115 yr Also, the market will settle down soon. At the moment it's pretty crazy which can make buying and selling things hard but I'm sure within a few weeks things will have settled down and it'll be much simpler to use.

February 3, 201115 yr Its not the prices that are necessarily wrong its the players who feel the need to offer cheap/useless items for ridiculous prices and expect to buy expensive items for cheap. Once the morons figure out they cannot get a party hat for 1gp and sell their adamant platelegs for 120m, it'll die down. I hope. :unsure:

February 3, 201115 yr It's much better now. Manipulators can't manipulate everyday items like Bars, Logs and other small items as easy as before (if even possible at all) but on the other hand Rares are easily manipulated.

An approximation of prices, yeah, but it needs both a settled market and a bit of time to do that. For now, people are going to have to find out more exact prices on their own, a necessary evil. It'll be able to do its job properly soon, now there's no limits. :) Major economic transition periods are never kind to systems that try to keep track of them, or worse, predict them. ~ W ~
February 4, 201115 yr Everyone is selling for way above market price and buying for way below. Just wait for noobs to realize they won't get rares for 1 gp, or sell their raw materials for twice what it's worth and things will be back to more like normal. Also some items probably do need to adjust to a more realistic price that the GE stopped them from before.

The fact that they reinstated free trade shows how little Jagex knows about the community. Sure, you and most of the people on this site might like this new system but what about your lower level players in both F2P and P2P who dont know any better. And If you bring up that damned fixed poll Idk what Ill do but it will be bad!!! The old GE is more friendly to newer and more average players which makes up the majority of people. The fact is that rich high levels dont need the system to be friendly. The lvl 49 who just lost his full adamant to a scam does. Power to the old wildy hell yeah.

Except to the level 49 who just got scammed out of his full adamant via being lured to the wilderness... Anyhoo, the GE is here to stay. In 6 months time, prices should be relatively steady again, and most people will still use the GE to buy more or less the same stuff it was used for before the update; the things that the GE won't be used to sell will probably stick to things like 500m+ rares, corp and nex drops, which never got traded on the GE anyhow.
