June 11, 201115 yr I'll give anything a try. Well, anything that is actually music. You can defend it all you want, but Merzbow, Masonna, and other Noise "artists" do not make music. That is actually very debatable. But as this doesn't seem like the thread to start such a debate in, I shall not say anything further. I forgot a few othersEBM and the sortHardstyleOrchestrated pieces that I occasionally come across. And that's about it for my tastes in addition to my previous post. June 14, 201115 yr Anything really. I don't try and limit myself to certain genres and evaluate stuff on a artist by artist basis. I haven't really found anything much (yet) that I like from Country, however. All these other genres though there is stuff I like from though. Best way I could describe it really. Just takes time for me to like stuff. Recently though: a lot of ambient electronic, reggae, jazz and metal. - EDIT: Don't like the term "metal" to describe music. It's too broad, too vague. What band(s) do you immediately think of when you hear "metal" ? I use the term 'Metal' just as an all-encompassing umbrella of its sub genres as opposed to sounding like a douche listing off the thousand different sub-genres of metal that I would listen to. (because honestly I like it all). Bands I think of when I think of metal? Bathory, Mayhem, Helloween, Blind Guardian, Primordial, Jesu, Black Sabbath, Sabaton, Sleep, Burzum, Summoning, Sun O))), Earth, Agalloch, ect. Pretty much anything under that genre.
June 14, 201115 yr Hip-Hop/RapRock/AlternativeI can listen to most genre's and find enjoyment though.

If I'm talking with someone whom I know likes music, then it's worth going into a few subgenres. There's approximately 3 billion of them though, and grouping one band under a certain label usually leads to arguments haha.
June 23, 201115 yr [hide="Large last.fm tag clouds, since 3 and 6 months ago respectively][/hide]That big progressive metal tag is because of Mastodon but I only really listen to Leviathan; and that's sludge if anything, I actually dislike most prog metal I've heard. Big on doom bands like Thou and Dark Castle, prog are 90% Sympozion and King Crimson plays but I've recently become very fond of PFM's Per Un Amico. Sympozion and Mastodon get extra plays because I play them, and Mastodon gets extra plays because when I can't be bothered to go back into standard tuning, that's what I play. June 24, 201115 yr Remember last time?I'm going to bed.If posts could be liked on this forum, you'd be seeing a blue thumb right about now. My Last.fm tag cloud says indie rock, alternative, electronic, indie pop, post-punk, and some dance. (The one from Cascada is hot. /debate). But seriously, I prefer to like artists over genres. It's just the artists I like tend to produce music with similar instruments and topics. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
June 25, 201115 yr Hands Up, Dance, Trance, Hard Trance, Electro, House, Orchestral (Thomas Bergersen's new album is A-MA-ZING). That's mainly what I listen to. And some mainstream pop music.

July 9, 201115 yr I like anything that falls under the rock and metal umbrellas. I also love jazz and classical, and am starting to get into Dubstep and <real> hip-hop, not this girls, money, sex, bling crap.
July 15, 201115 yr I like most music to some degree, although I've yet to find any dance or dubstep that I like (and yes, I have heard Burial). I LOVE metal in most of its forms, although there are comparatively few metalcore and deathcore bands that I like, and female-fronted gothic metal leaves me cold. I also love most experimental music, and other favourite genres are jazz/blues, classical, punk/hardcore/grindcore/powerviolence, and noise/power electronics. Some of my current favourite albums: Autopsy - Mental Funeral, Macabre EternalSatan - Court In The ActBurzum - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss, FilosofemMorbid Angel - Altars Of MadnessNapalm Death - Scum, From Enslavement To ObliterationMan Is The Bastard - MancruelSeptic Death - AttentionWolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Piano Concerto #23Gustav Mahler - Symphony No. 1 ('Titan')John Zorn - Naked CitySutcliffe Jugend - When Pornography Is No Longer EnoughWhitehouse - Asceticists, Mummy And DaddyMerzbow - Pulse DemonMiles Davis - Kind Of Blue, [bleep]es BrewMercyful Fate - Don't Break The Oath This list is liable to change by tomorrow.
