tigershelby2
So ya, would the gem bag be worth it to get? I really dislike DG, I havent been in months. I dont really plan on training it much more unless I have to. Is there something else thats close ish in cost thats better? ilovecuttingyews
Gem bag isn't worth it, unless you have a slayer task that drops a lot of gems but most of the time, even that's not worth it. Something that costs nearly the same but is more useful would be the coal bag. It's really usefull if you're mining coal or smithing. EDIT: I forgot that gems are dropped more often since the RoW update (haven't been p2p in forever). In that case, yes it's worth it.
Samaster
I use my gem bag on almost every slayer task. Imo its very usefull. If your going to slay in the future get rapier, but thats a bit out of your reach. In answer to your question, yes gem bag is worth getting if you dont plan on going any further. Coal bag is not however... Once you hit 80 mining there is no use for it. Even before then its still not that usefull. Just grind out granite or lava flow mine for 5 more levels. Hav0c0wnz
i bought a gem bag for slayer but tbh i never get around to using it, i find that the monsters rarely drop gems and it is not worth the invent space that it takes up
TC3
Scroll of life would be better but I think it's quite a few more tokens. You shouldn't have to go far beyond 50 to get one and gem bag is pretty useless. You should give dungeoneering a chance because at higher levels it becomes quite fun, I used to hate dungeeoneering at low levels aswell so I can relate to that feeling that it's taking forever. Sy_Accursed
From everything I have heard Gem Bag certainly isn't one to have high up your buying priorities but it is useful in the end on many slayer tasks as gems; while not the most valuable commodity ever, are valuable enough to be worth grabbing with the bag. pulli23
Gem bag is hardly ever usefull: you need to have at least 2 gems "a trip" which are combined worth taking. (IE 2 ruby + or lots of lower gems). I'm unsure which slayer monster actually drops this: even abbysal demons I found it not worth the inventory spot. - It does combine well with tasks where you take a ring of wealth. Maybe nechs? On the other hand: it's dirt cheap, a gem bag is 1 c2 small dungeon for me atm. First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me. CookieMonsta
I take a gem bag with me on any slayer task in which I am using a RoW. When using this, I usually get several gems, and their price adds up quickly. Also, the tokens it will cost you is only 1 dungeon by the time you'll be high enough Dungeoneering to buy anything better, so it's not really wasting anything. Quyneax
I use a gem bag because I love shinies :D. I got it once for a gorak task, and it saved me a good deal of either banking time or tears over leaving behind pretty shinies. It's 2k tokens, there probably isn't anyone at your level who couldn't afford to waste that much. Deletion
It's only 2k tokens. I take it on every slayer task I do, and atleast get a couple of gems, so I think it is very much worth it. Those who are saying 'it's a waste of an invent space' - Seriously? It's one spot, you must be doing something wrong while slaying if you end up with a full invent. Consider that even what you seem to think is "bad" money can be good for others: Not everyone has days to play this game and find a team to bosshunt or gain levels up to do tds. Cause as I recall it was you who was the one cussing me at base. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? Deletion
Ashes + Dragons - Without Yak you'd be banking anyway, and if you plan on filling your invent at the end, when you need to bank, I find in general the gems you get add up to more than 1 dragon bone.Rune/Addy Items - Again assuming no Yak it would pay to get spell book swap for rune items and just leave addy as the gems will add up to more than an Addy full helm.Starting with full invent - Should only occur when using a cannon, and in which case you should most likely bring a BoB anyway. @Pulli, if you're doing this for money then you will be banking multiple times a task anyway so 1 invent spot isn't much of a loss. tigershelby2
So, basically, it is worth it since I already pick up gems anyway. If I have a full invt (runes, pots and just depending on the task) I pick up the gems until something better comes along. So ill pick up a sapphire until I run out of space, and then keep it until something better comes along (good drop/emerald+). And to whoever says gems arent worth it to pick up, I have over 500k in sapphires alone in my bank, not to mention all the emeralds, rubies, diamonds, and a few dragonstones. Deletion
Yes then it is definitely worth it for you. Plus, it is only 2k tokens which in the long run (assuming you plan on getting a chaotic at minimum) is nothing.
Urza285
Yeah its worth it. Don't think of it as a key piece for slaying, but as an accessory item like your spec weapon. Besides slayer has gotten so much easier over the years that the loss of one inventory space is negligible to efficiency.
