Jiblix and Ken Genosis Demodded Over Speaking Out

Where's your morality man?

Easy answer--I stay away from the RSOF and work on a fansite community. I post occasionally on there, but really racking up post-count there is like shooting fish in a barrel.

You'd have to be some sort of masochist to want to be a forum moderator on the RSOF. They're honestly better off, imo.

Lol kimberly. You might be right that they maybe better off. However, that doesn't change what jagex did. An act of malice, and of control.

I fear for f2p, my best (everyone's) first memory of the game was in lumb, on an f2p world. Now the hiscores are gone, what soon will be left?

Here's a prayer and a toast to f2p! Long live f2p! May it never become a mere demo!

I saw his thread in Future Updates yesterday and I knew this was bound to happen.

RIP another green crown.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

No clue why anyone would wanna be a Pmod or Fmod. That's just obtuse.

Was Deathknell, but the password recovery never worked for me. So I'm this now. Whatever. Someone get me some damn fried chicken!

Found this on rsof, good for a few laughs. Credit to clawdragons

So, this forum is for predicting future updates right? Well I think I've seen enough to predict some things.

I think they will happen in this order:

1) Removal of F2P from the forums. That way they won't complain in the future.

2) Removal of F2P Wilderness. After all, all those riots were "we pay to PK", right? So no pay, no pk.

3) Removal of free chat for F2P, and introduction of a new quickchat phrase: "Gee, I wish I could talk to you, but I don't give Jagex enough money".

4) Removal of visual character customization for F2P. All F2P will look the same without armor.

5) Removal of trade. How can you expect to trade if you don't pay? (Oh, I love equivocation)

6) Removal of free will. Free will's no longer free now, suckers! Your character will do whatever he wants no matter how you try to control him.

7) Removal of F2P entirely.

8) Removing those who were once F2P from real life, using trained assassins.

9) Removing all memory of said F2P players with little alien brain-blanking flashing devices... Spooky.

10) Invention of a time machine to erase F2P from ever having existed at any point in time.

11) Destruction of the multiverse to erase F2P from all existence in all dimensions and all conceivable parallel universes.

I think my predictions are pretty accurate.

(As a note, this is mostly a joke thread. Try not to take it too seriously. But it also does try to make a point, so try not to take it completely jokingly either)

I did it to help the community. When I was asked to join (5+ years ago), there was a decent number of mods, but not too many. We all enjoyed our duties ingame as it mostly was interacting with players on a personal level to make the game a better place. Through the years policies have changed, Jagex business models have changed, and most importantly; Jagex's definition of what Mods are has changed. We've gone from being a way to help the community to nothing more than spambot muters and event planners. If I was asked now, I would decline. But hey, I've put this much time in, might as well see it through to the end eh?

Oh that's just the cutest little thing. Aren't you just full of naivte and idealism. I just hate the thought of you learning the truth of the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and Jagex. It's gonna break that sweet little heart of yours. :^_^:

A second round of crackdown just happened.

All threads on rsof discussing ken genossis has been hidden, including my own. Soviet jagex at work, everyday.

This is when I appreciate the freedom of speech we have here at tif.

We have thought police here as well, the only difference is we can criticise Jagex here.

Hey, I was one of those (proof: [qfc]25-26-99-61985129[/qfc]). I'm no masochist; I knew to get the hell out and dodge when drama/politics showed up.

Then when I felt like speech and opinions were constrained I split. -.- I joined both P/FMod teams for similar reasons to OTM.

Mmm.. That's what a whistle blowe does. Ppl like jib and ken were probably the most dedicated and loyal ppl to jagex. Ken had almost 8k posts and probably volunteered huge amount of times modding for jagex. They loved runescape and wanted the game to succeed like so many of us. And this is how jagex repays them?

Then they should have walked away instead of demanding action be taken against Jagex that would damage the image of the business to potential customers (I really I don't want to get into this again). Instead of tearing apart the sinking ship, jump.

And you don't care?

I couldn't give a shit. And this is why:-

1. Mod status is nothing. NOTHING.

2. [argument about BUSINESS IMAGE PROTECTION]

3. Jiblix especially (considering this Ken bloke has only just be ousted, who knows) insighted people and made the most of his martyrdom in an attempt to further damage Runescape/Jagex. Now, if he really was dedicated and loyal, he wouldn't have.

Where's your morality man?

Ignoring the fact that morality has absolutely nothing to do with it, my morality isn't even remotely in question here anyway. I'm not the one making the decision, I'm the one standing here and - stupidly mind you - expecting people to calm down and think for a moment "hey, maybe, as a business, they only want people representing them who are spouting pro-Jagex sentiment, and that as soon as they turn to negativity, we willk have to silence them". Now, obviously they can't be silenced, so instead, they move to sever ties with the individual. It's SMART BUSINESS.

Pal, should've said Jagex's integrity instead since that is what's imaginary. <_<

For lolz, I managed to find the original thread Ken made (current thread is a repost)

[qfc]16-17-616-63378168[/qfc]

Look at the nice censorship work!

First, Ken remade the thread, and to his credit, its a very good recreation considering he didn't have it saved (I'm surprised he didn't just get an fmod to copy it and send it to him. Here is its QFC: 285-286-462-63381407

I'm kinda shocked, both because I didn't expect him to blow up like that, and because I think he is surprised he got booted out for it.

There is a very big difference between disagreeing with the person you are volunteering for, and publicly flaming them, and he was totally doing the latter.

It's a shame, because both of the high profile demoddings have been dedicated people, and their loss is a loss for everyone imo, but I don't think there is any excuse for how either of them acted. If you really have that big a problem for the person you are volunteering for, at least have the decency and respect to resign before you publicly undermine them. To do that to someone you are actively volunteering for, actively supposed to be helping, is just plain rude. So while I might commend them on their messages, I don't condone, or respect, the way either of them did it (because they were still mods when they did it). I also kind of resent them for getting themselves kicked off the team, because they were real assets to the community there.

A second round of crackdown just happened.

Not that I disagree with what Ken may have said, as I'm opposed to the update as well.

As you know' date=' we do provide extra tools to the volunteers to allow them to raise any concerns they may have directly with us. [/quote']

As a footnote, we don't. You need to brush up on the notion of freedom of speech and what it applies to.

At least someone around here has some common sense

Its smart buisness

How is i t a good buisness model for jagex to basically discourage people from accepting modship by saying you must spout the party line and not get a pay check for it?

First it makes people lose respect for the current p and f mods because now they are basically drones serving jagex and can't have an opinion of their own.

And it discourages people who actually want to improve the game from joining because now they can't voice their concerns. All that is left now are the attention [bleeps] who just want the crown as a status symbol and will most likly abuse their power.

Then jagex will lose their free police service and actually have to spend money on real mods to do it.

Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!
