It's my main weapon, A whip is slightly quicker than a scimmy imo... seems more inbetween a scimmy and a dagger. The hits are also more like a d baxe str wise... ie. My max based on the equipment I wear and if potted and prayer is 33 with a whip or 34 with a d baxe.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Controlled str actually can be a good thing - seems to hit more often and since the xp is split evenly among att str and def is a good way to train melee in general...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here's something to ponder... both mage and range are single stats - as you gain levels in those your chance to hit and your damage per hit goes up. When it comes to melee you have two stats split - att and str. You have to fight much more.

The whip only costs 3M or w/e...spend a day or 2 at barrows and you can easily buy a whip.

Whip is about as fast as a d skimmy but much better bonuses.

 

 

 

It is the best compromise between attack speed and combat bonuses.

Well I know that the whip has no strength based attack-- you can only raise your attack and defense when using it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Put it on "controled" and you raise all four stats.

I finally got my 70 attack, and have been using my whip for a while now. Subsequantly my torags has degraded down to 50 with all the comat i have been in.

no they wont even out, they will get closer together tho. as you go from 700k exp in a skill to having 2-5mil in exp, yes the lvls will be the same because your stats are lower enough where the exp between 2-10 lvls inst much. ive got like 6.2mil attack exp and i think 3.8mil def exp, so controlled will take a long time for me to equal out if EVER.

i think dharok legs and plate would save over whip, but since you have only them i think your safe, btw training while wearing that armor is well pointless. but hey do what you want, i dont wear guthans armor unless im healing or at kalphites simply because its multi their. or castle wars when im just having fun.

dont get his hopes up, ive spent over a week at barrows and over 100 prayer pots and my best 2 things their was torag plate and guthan skirt. and i broke even pretty much from the runes i had to buy. and i was doing it what seemed to be a little more cost efficient, i used 3 prayer pots max and that was a rare occassion, and at times i left with 2 doses left on my 2nd vial of pot.

They have almost the same stats, except the hally is slower (by ALOT), and two handed

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I got my whip at 15m, and I don't regret getting it. The only other melee weapons i use are barrows. I haven't picked up a drag long/scim in months

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

as for the dharok argument, yes, dharok is better. But, it is extremely restrictive, since theres a much higher chance of death, and it will eat up prayer if you use it. It also requires a full set, so you may have some trouble killing monsters that require certain armor
