I really don't like the cosmetic override. I prefer actual items so much more.

 

Why exactly?

Cosmetic overrides balance the concept of fashionscaping and items that look good and show what you want to show with the ability to use actual decent items.

 

So many cosmetic items get cast away as useless simply because there's only a narrow band of training in which you can use cosmetic items and sacrificing armour/useful items for cosmetic has always been a ba idea. With overrides you get to use the perfect setup AND have the looks to fashionscape or show off an allegiance or w/e. No downside really.

Since we are on the topic... The biggest downside is being limited to one DKB per worn slot. And frankly that's BIG (except for maybe max and comp capes).

That is true that SUUUCCCKS, but that's not so much a flaw on cosmetic overrides themselves. That's a flaw of the system to convert normal items to cosmetics.

 

I kinda wonder if the bringing weapon keepsake boxes is gonna fix that a bit, like as a hidden extra. Afterall if we can only have 1 weapon it'd be weird since weapons can only override their own type of weapon.

Normally I would give jagex the benefit of the doubt, but I would expect them to overlook the cap for having a weapon override.

I was thinking weapon overrides would me MH/OH/2H Mage/Melee/Range specific (IE Royal cbow would override crystal bow, but primal knives wouldn't)

DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers rings

QBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow parts

CR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size.

I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty).

I was thinking weapon overrides would me MH/OH/2H Mage/Melee/Range specific (IE Royal cbow would override crystal bow, but primal knives wouldn't)

 

Some how I doubt this, given the already established like for like rule, which is tied to technical things to do with animations and such if it IS split up properly we ought to have far more than that.

 

As a bare min we should have mh/oh/2h slash, stab, crush, thrown. And then crossbow, bow, stave, book and wand.

And even that would be a laxing of the rules since atm in melee it's more precise (eg rapier for rapier, whip for whip, axe for axe)

Really looking forward to overrides. As above, I hope they don't screw it up. I mean, what are they going to do for dual-wielding? Especially for some things that don't have an off-hand because they just haven't been looked at since EoC, rather than because there can't be one? Case in point: I would love to keepsake Dominion Crossbow, but it's 1H without an off-hand variant. Or possibly the mace from Crucible, which is also 1h with no off-hand. If we can only have ONE weapon keepsaked I will rage hard. And if they don't allow more keepsakes for each worn slot with this update, I'll rage minimally about that too. I still want to keepsake my horns. I've basically been saving my last chunk of runecoins from gold membership on the small hope that they'll allow all of this.

Well they have said about 30 odd times the new skills will only go to 99 over these past 8 months, so I guess that could be called confirmation

Works for me, and it's a well known fact he has contact with jmods, so there's not much reason to doubt.

 

Near enough the whole community has been aware of the issue (to avoid defining it as a bug/glitch) for months. One "famous" player vaguely eluding to be it being fixed "soon" is worthless. It's about time that Jagex fixed it, but Dardan being on terms with JMods, who would happily divulge when they are going to nerf a particularly popular weapon (which would lead to the rise of offhand drygores, granting Dardan and those he trusted , the opportunity to make some easy gp) seems a wee bit far-fetched (and slightly corrupt?).

Forgive me for being sceptical, but if they do happen to nerf EE (and EEE) with the next update, then this is naught but a coincidence.

Why would it have to be tied to animations? Just use the animation of the keepsaked item.

Why would it have to be tied to animations? Just use the animation of the keepsaked item.

 

I believe it's tied to animations because of the weapon speed and how they manage animations internally. At minimum the weapons would have to have same speed.
