July 9, 201412 yr You don't instantly start downloading 700mb of cache once you log in, though. You can just log in to lobby, then exit and close the client. Shouldn't download more than a few KBs, if not a few MBs.

July 9, 201412 yr IMO it should have the same restrictions as before; if the account has at least one skill above 30 then it gets to keep the name. Then if the account doesn't meet those requirements, after 6 months the name is removed.
July 9, 201412 yr At the same time, though, there's really no reason to preserve the name of someone who hasn't played in close to a decade... Though the fact that they're so squeamish about listing players' original usernames limits it somewhat. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
