The Combat triangle=Unbalanced?

I know some people are gonna flame me for this but hey, who cares really?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Just now a thought occured to me, Magic is the only form of combat (not including prayer) that has no weapon with a special. I think they should change this.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I know ancient mage is powerful but what if it was a staff unusable with ancient mage? As ancient mage is Zaro's magic the staff could be symbolised, say by Zammy or armydal.

Magic is also the only form of attack where u can be holding a range or melee weapon, and still be able to cast magic spells.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There is no need for a special attack for magic, IMO

hehe i just think it would be cool, and you need lv80 mage for charge, its gonna be a while before i get that far. Also, the god spells, they lower stats but apart from using the 100 times in the arena, only once have i seen someone using them not at the mage arena.

Try looking in the duel area lately? Wilderness?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They're being used...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If Mage get a special, things would really be unbalanced. Magers have everything they could ever need at their fingure tips. Its all a matter of getting the levels needed and getting the runes required.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They can do more then Warriors and Rangers combined. And no one really seems to notice that.

Yabut,

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

you can be a melee or range fighter and use magic without equipping anything different. Granted it's effectiveness may be limited, but it's still worth noting.

At the moment the Triangle is Highly weighted towards Melee/Mage both of them being about equal, and together they're a deadly Combo.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rangers are MILES behind, Even with 2 rangers on 1 meleer you probably couldn't kill them...

Mayeb the 20 second hold limit and range from 20-30 damage from barrage is the same as a special?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ancients is pretty much a special in itself..barrage then dds special :oops:

Magic is already the strongest part of the triangle by far. Ever gone to Cw? The team that has a good ancient mage pretty much [/b]ALWAYS wins.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Magic is by far the strongest, and it does not need more power. Look at my sig stats; I'm a mage too and I think its waay too strong.

by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.]

 

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

I opened up this thread thinking "Oh no, another 'mages are overpowered' thread." Boy was I wrong :lol:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If mages need a special, then why can one mage take down 5-6 rangers at once? (I've seen it happen dozens of times in cw)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I would only agree that mages need a special if there was no anchient magics, no teleblocking or snaring, and they had to weild a staff to cast magic (and the staff can't fight using melee). And as thats sooo likely to happen (:roll:) I sure hope it doesn't.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And btw, I'm not a ranger. I do cw a lot, usually as an anchient mage. Whenever I mage I usually get 10x the kills than the amount if times I die.

Nah mage dont need a special, except maybe for god spells.. seeing as they suck for the amount it costs, and splashes alot, maybe one big charge that takes up a whole spec bar, and maybe takes a while to load and fire but guarantees a hit of 20+ with 60 mage? Because god spells really do suck :x

I quite agree, if the triangle is unbalanced the biggest side of it is magic already. They can change strategy and attacks at the drop of a hat... tele-block, ice barages, entangle along with high powered missle spells, they have the upper hand...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

... to top it all off many of them are undeserving of the power as unlike melee or range we don't have to fight to get levels (and spells), at level 55 they can high alch and tele our way into being a devastating opponent, unlike melee or range where we have to actually do combat to get there.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What Jagex should do is separate the magic into schools and thus require you practice with missle type magic and such to actually be able to use it.

Especially on free to play. I mean, Mages can do 16's quickly, and hide through a forest+rune carries a negative magic defense. And rangers on F2P are joking, I mean, how is a Adamanite arrow supposed to compare to Rune Full?

dm me you barrage ill be in crystal bow and black hides and we can have full drag in inventories to make the stakes higher (Y)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

its not exactly unbalanced, but range is never seen in the wild because it cant ko anybody. if range were able to hit, say 30s max instead of 22s, you might be seeing some more rangers and range/mage hybrids in the wild. a bunch of new bows that have the same speed as msb and karils bow and cool specials wouldnt hurt either, give it some variety.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

right now melee is the only one that can ko and melee/mage is considered the best hybrid because it combines easy kos with the ability to stop them from moving and do damage at the same time.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

the only reason magic is considered unbalanced is because everyone uses it. well no [cabbage], its the only style that can stop people from moving which is a HUGE advantage in the wild (in duels healing yourself is just as good). by itself mage is weak and not going to get very many kills.

Have you ever even pked on f2p? My range pure has made 2m just from mage kills. On f2p, rangers own, but on p2p (the real game), mages own. Warriors are always in the middle.
