How2PK
It is suposed to sound like a way of tortute they used in China hundred years ago. I can't wait to hear it, of course. "Leng Tch'e" (hundred pieces) was an old Chinese torture ritual where the victim was pumped with opium to prolong his life while he was slowly dismembered. Picture such a dungeon in the Ninth layer of Hell, now imagine its soundtrack. This is one of my favorite John Zorn compositions by far. Of all Naked City songs, this is the most violent and painful, but disturbingly pleasurable like some dark fantasy. A horrible antipodal rapture and agony, it is breathtakingly simple -- a continuous build-up starting on roaring guitar feedback and gradually adding drums, and Yamatsuka Eye's tormented vocals, and finally Zorn's screaming sax, climaxing at a place very different from their starting point and yet constant in its agony. Musically stunning, minimal and gripping, _Leng Tch'e_ is music that seems to play itself, inevitably pouring from a crack in the wall of reality. Eye and drummer Joey Baron are absolutely amazing here, adding so much to the intensity of the music. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! 1_man_army
How2PK - Is that cover an alternate cover, it's just I was looking this up on Wikipedia out of curiosity and they have a 'slightly' more gruesome image for that album... Yea, this is a cover of the boxset. They had to remove the original picture out of stores because of Anti Asian material or something. hehe. The old coverart is on the inside of the box though, so I can still 'enjoy' that. Azvy. :o That's a load of silverware. How2PK
Nice. 8-) Went to Amsterdam today for the Last Shadow Puppets concert, they also got a very big record store there which is open an hour longer than the other shops, and I also get discount there from my own work, so I bought myself a few things that I can't get here in Zeeland. 4CD 1DVD box for 24 I though this was OOP, but they had a few there for only 4, strange. Also on sale for only 8 The concert was pretty great by the way. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore! How2PK
I think that on the entire line I like Neon Bible better, there's not a single track on it that I don't like, while there are some songs that I don't really like on Funeral. But the best songs on Funeral are just incredible and (a lot) better than the best songs on Neon Bible. You know what I mean? :P Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!

BlueLancer
Gomorra (2008), extremely realistic portrayal of the camorristi mafia in the Naples/Calabria area of southern Italy. Not a flashy hollywood action flick or Scarface though, you should only expect to see brutal reality. It doesn't glorify, it just shows what the people in those areas have to go through every day. Actually, I'd say it's a sort of documentary, it is extremely based on reality, it's not a thriller/action movie. Watch it if interested... It should be on DVD in most countries by now. Lateralus
I got Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike by Gogol Bordello recently.
