Black hole existed!!??

A long time ago, back when there was only classic and no members, you could speak to a dwarf in the dwraven mines and he would send you into a "Black Hole Experience" to see what it would be like being banned.

It was taken out of the game long before Runescape2, hence the rarity of the disc of returning he gave to you to escape the black hole.

Oh yes, it existed. It wasn't all that fascinating, though. It was just you standing in the middle of a completely black screen, but I'll try to find a pic. Some player-made fansites have that kind of thing.

Sadly, back then I didn't see the wisdom of taking pictures of that kind of thing

Yep, it was there in 2001. Basically you were able to log on a banned char, but it just was on a black area. People wanted to see it and Jagex put in a black hole experience thing to Dwarven mines. This offered you a try-out version of the black hole. Discs of returning came from this: you used them to get out of that try-and-buy version of it :P

....just imagine your runescape character (in rsc) on top of a black background.

I wish they would bring it back, just for a laugh.

everyone who owns a disk of returning can kiss their cash goodbye :?

I will shoot down any one with my bitting wit, and sarcasm!

What POSSIBLE reason would someone have to make a fake like that?Does he profit from faking a picture like that? Does it help him at all?Jesus Christ, stop being so suspicious. This is Tip.it for God's sake, not RuneHQ. -_-

I didn't realyze you could tele out when it was still on rs. A friend told me the day it was removed that you could just tele out of there and he was sad that he only managed to get 30 something disks... (Laws were not sold in shops and couldn't rc)

If i remember correctly, didn't people get their friends to make a newb account and trade them disks of returning to get unbanned?

I was in black hole around may 2001...other players were able to see me i was wandering outside of buildings and saw only 2nd floors of buildings...

I got there by Moderator and it was not "experience" it was real punishment.

Little bit of thinking i actually found way to escape from there since i was able to walk in black area(it was not meant to me being able to walk in first place but moderator made mistake i think) but i was not able enter any building...

So i figured there was window in 2nd floor of falador castle and it was possible to shoot arrows through it...so i figured out if i find someone close of my level to kill me through that window who also had decent range skill, i could get out.

I found someone and since it was possible to switch to pk mode from game options i decide to switch that someone was able to kill me in falador...i successfully got killed and returned to lumby....since i had only one time left to switch my mode i decide to be in pk mode couple weeks and in day "new" runes (nature, law etc) were added in game i switched back to non pk mode because i got chased by some high level pkers inside of new ice cave in rimmington lol

It was nice adventure back then...i still have somewhere screenshots reminding about it.

Wow, on RSC you could PK anybody anywhere as long as they had PK mode on? I only joined in RS2 so I don't know.

That's cool 8)

No..only it was possible before wilderness were added in game...and you couldnt pk anybody, just max 4 levels higher or lower than you...only non pk area was lumbridge and rest of map was free to pk.

I had few low level pker characters to kill ppl in varrock shops and mining areas.

Earlier in game your combat level was same as your fighting stats (or hp) so you could had 99 magic and your combat level 3 as long as you didnt have fighting stats trained.

There was also no level requirements for equipment so level 3 were able to wear addy/rune if wanted...wilderness were added shortly after first rune items arrived in game and then also pk mode option got removed....basically all fun got removed.

Better were the hideouts that mods sometimes sent players too. Unescapable rooms, I think one even had a ladder that if you climbed it just sent you back to the same level.
