Runescape was in 2D ??!!!!

I always thought that RS classic was an older version of runescape that was also in 3D.

 

2D? that couldn't have been much fun! and why can't you make new accounts on it?Can anyon tell me more ?

Ehm, for your information, RuneScape classic was created in 2000-2001, and was "transformed" into RS2 (RuneScape 3D) in 2004. Not in 2001, that's a big mistake.

I had a conversation with some "newbs" at fire giants erlier, they called me a "newb" because they were convinced RS2 came out in 2001. They were 100+, so it's quite shameful they still don't know anything about RS-history. Inform yourself before you post such statements, it can be VERY annoying...

2001 had a big update in RS, it changed into something, I played then, to us it WAS New-RS. Calm down, I never called you a newb.

 

 

 

your thinking of the wilderness update, everywhere used to be wilderness until that big update in december time 2001, after that, wilderness was a separate place to the north where people would fight (like it is today)

 

 

 

this was my stats at the same time rs2 was released and still the same as today if u want to check high scores:

RSC was a time when not that many people played, varrock square was empty on members servers, and free gem cutting or free smithing was not a scam.

what i think the guy who said exp was faster meant that power mining and fishing were a lot faster since you didnt have to worry about banking everytime.

actually got 91 str n 82 attack... just dont have pix anymore... had a few killer mages... 1(atta) 61(defence) 1(strength) n 78 magic.. 3 64 4 n 81 magic.... lvl 39 n 41 hittin 25s... owned up to a lvl 102 :)

 

 

 

 

that was my rune miner... actually ended wit like 90 mining n 74 smith.. and like 52 defense or somethin... also got like 60 fish on him

 

 

 

 

 

but yeh i had a bunch of bad [wagon] accounts.. no pix tho... i wish they would bring free rsc back.... if they kept autoers out i seriuosly dont doubt it would make a decent come back!

Yeah I loved my scythe back in rsc :), heres a pic i took when rs2 beta was about to end and I was planning on quitting.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I actually quit playing for a year or so after rs2 was released, played it again for a couple of months but it's honestly not the same game :(

I believe he means the game jagex hosted that was also multiplayer, before even Runescape Classic, I remember having some pictures of that game before, I cant remember if that game was called runescape aswell but it ended when the RSC as we know it came out.

youre right, rsc is mostly 3d, just bad graphics, only items, players, and npcs were 2d.

RSC was awesome... although there was a lot of clicking. Getting to a banker was hard in a crowded world, and telegrab annoyed most people during drop parties. in my op, the capes looked a lot better then. And of course, there was the sleeping bag

Heh I actually tried rsc once,never got my guy off tutorial island.

 

I got to the mining part (Which I'd wanted to see because I've always enjoyed mining) and said:

 

Wtf? I You mean I gotta click for every swing!?! :lol:

 

And I havn't touched the account since then.

 

His name is zubeedoo,and I can't remember for the life of me when it was I used him,so he may well be still useable on rsc...

 

Hey, doesn anyone know if I can check to see if he's still useable without getting him a membership (waste of money if I can't use him)

Actually, it was 3D with 2D sprites :P.

RSC was not a better game, but it was a better community.

 

 

 

God I miss those years...

Jeez, I couldn't agree more. People who say RSC came out 1999 and then there's this crowd of people who are like 'yeah it did, trust me i talked to paul'. So irritating.
