The worm in the latest quest, "Royal Troubles", greatly resembles the Snowager in Neopets, Having the same color, species, and even steals people's items and sleeps on them.

Well to me it looked like the sand worms from Beetlejuice. I think they just made a huge snake that grabbed some items.

 

 

 

I think the reference would be too obscure to really make a connection as the "Snowager" is not a critical part of Neopets (or at least it wasn't back when I played nearly three years ago). Plus if it were something from neopets I'd imagine it would be something to draw that crowd to Runescape so a quest such as "Royal Trouble" with it's fairly difficult requirements (Fremminek Trials, Throne of Miscellania) and the fact that it is a members quest would make it hard for an average player of Neopets to see the "clever" reference.

sea snakes aren't exactly..um, only in one place. Kinda common, and it doesn't look to much like it.

Alrighty, I used to play Neopets mad years ago, and there are a ton of similar items between the two game. Crackers and phats are the most ironic as they are the best/most expensive in RS and yet they are also in another game as well. Would think such a status symbol would be unique.

It didn't steel the items the kids did, it was just living in the cave they stashed them in.
