Not only is it anyoing but it makes whatever gender of person there looking for like an object. I'm interested to see exactly what it is that would make this activity reportable. Here's what I've gathered from your supporters:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1) It could potentially lead to item/password scamming - That's already reportable. Not to mention that there's only one way to learn about scams - the hard way - and it's better to figure out how scams work in a virtual game you can walk away from, as opposed to in reality.

 

 

 

2) It could potentially lead to censor evasion - That's already reportable as well.

 

 

 

3) They have no life - Considering that most of us actively play Runescape, and even more of us spend time on this forum, it's safe to say that anyone who says this is just exercising their right to be a judgemental nitwit. Why would no-lifing be reportable anyway? :-s

Being annoying is a poor reason for something to be reportable, because with the vast playerbase, people are annoyed by a wide variety of things - and of course a politically correct person like you would never dream of leaving anyone out, right? For example, sensitive people (you :o ) are very often annoyed by insensitive people (me :mrgreen: ), and shockingly, the reverse is also true. Honor-PKers are often annoyed by Anything-goes-PKers, and again, the reverse is true. Some people are annoyed by 1337speek, some are annoyed by common English, and some are annoyed at being ignored altogether - see where this could be problematic? It's a can of worms that Jagex would be wise to avoid opening.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Furthermore, considering that Jagex is already under constant scrutiny for having terrible customer support (visit the rants forum if you doubt me), I firmly believe that adding another source of reports is a bad idea. You can campaign for them to hire more staff, but until they do, the case-by-case differentiation you mention in your original post - as well as in your reply to Lord_Kain - is a pipedream.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What I will support is the suggestion by Jaklumen to add a filter to the character generation page, simply because players wouldn't risk investing X number of months of effort, only to find themselves banned for an offensive name. Then again, I've been in support of that idea for a long time. Ever since a certain Tip.It Times article, which was later removed.

When a person asks you to be their bf/gf, the 3rd time they ask and you refuse would be reportable. (as long as you clearly refused the first 2 times)

Supported. If Jagex is so worried about our safety, doesn't the whole online gf/bf go against all logic? (Unless, of course you knew that person in real life BEFORE you interacted with them on Runescape)
