It was probably chosen since eon 8 means the end. http://www.eon2.com (some architecture site?) http://www.eon5.com (A scary ventlike thingy?) Maybe eon8.com has something related? Maybe all those projects are for the Architecture site. Still wouldn't explain alot. Eon5 is just weird, but it might be a cool wallpaper. EDIT: Woah... eon5 seems definatly related, under properties it says it was created june 30 2006 and modified june 30 2006. Which is when the countdown on eon8 stops. EDIT2: It's to late forgot the countdown ends at July 1st

On the site is says nothing about the End Of The World It is probably marketing for somthing. So everyone wants to go the site when the countdowns over and it be some stupid product and a huge amount of people will see or it could be whatever. This is used most of the time for games. They call it 'ARGs". Artificial Reality Gameing just to keep people intrested untill they unvail the product. Anyone saying that its the end of the world is whats starting the rumors. All the "restricted" parts of the site are to get the word spread to more people so they can crack it. The topic tittle is very misleading. \
