Hunting?

I was reading Wikipedia about Runescape, looking at different pages, and found this:

Hunting

On 4 June 2006 it was found that in the bug-reporting section on RuneScape's website that there were 23 skills to report a bug in. The new one was called Hunting, and Jagex soon removed the entry from the site. Hunting was neither confirmed nor denied, leading many to believe that it is a future skill.

Do you think Jagex will release this?

My theory has been that it was the original original original name of slayer (just as carpentry became construction) and that it just got put there on accident.

KwimSigFinal-1.png?t=1304744327

Combat 116+; Total 1900+; All Hard Tasks; (Nearly) All quest points; (Nearly) All skills 60+; An aquatic moose ninja.

Currently: Using 63 hunter to get some of those "Chins", then I'm going to range stuff down. Interruptions of agility when I feel like it, as well.

And lucky enough to get 4 Dragon and 6 Barrow Drops.

[hide]Kwimbob now looks exactly like me in real life except for hair color. Yes, this means I look exactly like the protagonist of that certain anime that my second character, Faye_V is also named after. Yes, I bought a jacket that also looks like his. No in real life I don't have a slain bear to sling over my shoulders. Yes, I'm that skinny even if I no-life it for years in basements. No, I can't shoot a gun. Yes, I can win any other strategic video game you have never played - because I probably have, ahahaha. And yes, I also have brown eyes, yet one of my eyes looks different from the other. And yes, I'm completely oblivious to the [real] world around me as I constantly engineer new solutions to daily problems in my head. When I get hungry, all that isn't food can wait. When I'm sleepy - nothing is of any priority in front of sleep. But at any other time, I never slow down. Never give up. Never Surrender. Makes for a good life.

Its a possibility. I cant see a very good way of implementing it but who knows?

Edit : If the above is right, then it would make sense. But seeing how other games classify "hunters" as having pets and such, I couldn't see pets being implemented into RS.

You said that 2 times, why?

Just an extremely lagged out double post, feel free to ignore it

Such smart folk on the crew. Don't you have an assignment to work on, Kwimmy? \'

Yes, I totally agree that the "hunter" skill became slayer through its evolvement and development. Just like carpentry became construction. Its not Pking, because Pking has been in the game since the beginning.

Did you know that Pking used to happen in towns? Guards were there to stop you? There was no wilderness? This was all before my time.

A circus in Runescape?? Oh my.

Well Slayer was on the list aswell.. It was in alphabetical order so it would have been pretty hard to make that mistake. Hunting would be a lot diffrent then Slayer. Usually it deals with traps and tracking animals and camo and stuff.

From Legend of Arrav part 1:

And the tribes greatest hunter did teach the young men of the tribe the skills of hunting. He taught them the skill of silence, and of the parts of animals that caused sickness and should be removed before eating, and where to stand in wind and streams so that animals could not detect the hunters presence, and of tracking the prey through examining the forests through which they moved. And the child was more gifted than the rest of the young adults, as well as standing a good head taller, and when the time came for the young men to hunt their first animals alone, the child did bring back to the camp a large stag, with fair white skin and deep red eyes, and the elders saw this as a good omen.

But if there was the skill of hunting, there would also be the skill of silence coming out?

I really doubt that there will ever be a skill called hunting.

btw, the story also tells about the skills of farming and fighting :)

OMG yet another new 1337skillYAY!11!1!

no

WHAT I MEAN IS: we got POH recently, I think IF there will be another skill it will take another year+ or so...

PLEASE don't substitute the millions of useless "POH what will they look like" "omg POH finally (in january)" for this "new"skill....if there is any in the first place.

By the way, I have some serious construction to do.... But I have too little mony to put down the drain in the BPoC (bottomless pit of construction) so a new skill (probably another money leecher) would be nice to postpone :-w .
