Couple weeks ago, in my area, a 16 year old girl died giving birth.

 

The cause? The nurse put the Epidural in the I.V. instead of the girl's back.

 

The end result, of course, was death. Now that, that is quite sad.

I wonder how many kids will be suiciding over reality tv rpgs when those come out.

It's easy to be side-tracked into a conversation about big brother, but this isn't the issue here. The fact is, a disturbed child has killed herself (probably by accident), and this is sad.

 

 

 

Suicide at a young age is rarely about trying to actually end your life, it is usually a cry for help, to show others that you are upset about something, or to hurt someone close to you and it seems at the time the best way to show this.

 

 

 

It is unfortunate that someone didn't find her in time, but if you tie a knot round your neck and hang off a door, brain damage or death are a major possibility. It seems that this method or taking too many pills has over taken the "slitting wrists" method. I am no expert but I think it is a lot harder to cut your own wrists than to hang yourself. Therefore many more youngsters are dieing as a result.

 

 

 

The argument and subsequent punishment were probably the final straw, but I doubt very much that it was the sole reason for the tragedy.

In other news, a 5 year old strangled himself to death recently. I made that up, but I'm sure it's happened. Things like this are in the news all the time. Don't get me wrong, it's incredibly unfortunate, if it's true, but that's the world we live in. We were given this thing called a life, and sadly it can be taken away in seconds. With billions upon billions of people on the earth, it happens quite often.

Flavor of Love is some reality show where a famous person named "flava flav" tries to find true love..... he found "true love" on the first season and four months later he's trying to find it again

I'm not here to say Flavor of Love is real, but there is a second season (as you say, I wouldn't know) because the first chick that "won" was a phony that just wanted to jump-start her modeling career. She was a cutie, too...Sad.

Indeed, it's ridiculous that people think suicide is based on a single fact or argument. That kid from RS that commited suicide no doubt had many other problems too, likely combined with a depression. If that parent thinks it's because she couldn't watch BB anymore, then I doubt she's consulted a psychiater, or a regular GP.

You don't get it; TV didn't do that, her psyche did. She was most likely depressed and that must've been one of the many arguments with her mother, perhaps tipping the balance for her.

Watching that show would of killed her anyway.

I don't know what's more pathetic; Big Brother or The Daily Mail.

I came to this thread with the intention of posting exactly those words. Freaky. Anyway, I think that it was either other issues affecting her as well, or a sick way of getting back at her parents gone horribly wrong. She might have planned to shock her parents into removing the ban and killed herself by accident.

Anyways, yeah there MUST'VE been another reason other then just not being able to watch the show Big Brother. Maybe some school issues, being bullied or something? Or like Ragen said, she might've tried to scare her parents, or tried fooling arround or something. I dunno, it's quite sad though really... :(

Im saying that TV tipped the balance whether or not they should commit suicide is depressing.

I'd hope that there'd be another reason, and that was just the last straw. I don't think someone would kill they're self just 'cause they can't watch BB for one night.

I doubt the reason why she would kill herself is because she was forbidden to watch Big Brother. It may have been a collection of troubles in her life and the punishment of not watching the program could have pushed her over the edge.

 

 

 

She may have grown custom to hide her depression from everyone. Growing up you can learn how to keep things concealed, and you can become quite good at it. Ive read more articles on this, and I think there maybe some other factors which lead to her suicide.
